Apparently out for ten days and unlikely to feature against Seattle

Well it'll be interesting to see how Jones would presumably fit in since he is such a different player than josef is.

It changes the dynamic for sure. Always your fear of international duty - never had to consider the downside before.

Interesting. Part of me wonders if you even start Jones since they're such different styles and Jones himself will be returning from international duty. Maybe give Romario Williams the start, or push Villalba up top and add another midfielder?

Time for Tata to earn his paycheck.

I can't imagine they would have loaned out Romario to Charleston if the was in serious consideration to start if something happens to Josef. Like you said, he might decide to push one of the midfielders up top, but I'd like to see Jones start. Need to find out if he can be a productive player in this system, and 7 minutes at the end of a game isn't really the way to do it. The only other option I can think of would be Vasquez.

Forgot Williams had been dealt out. My bad.

I think we need to try out Jones

    -------Jones-------
    -------Almiron-----
    Asad------------Villalba
    ---Gressel--Carmona-
    Garza------------Mears
    ---Parky----LGP------
    ---------Kann-----------

Play a little deeper, but use width to see if Jones can get on any headers... ask almiron to run off Jones.

I could see Peterson getting the nod over Kenwyne.

Good news, boys! Just got the call from Tata - he wants me to start up front. Told me to keep it simple but harass those defenders

I imagine you can do the "keep it simple" part.

I'm gonna need you, GunnerJacket, to go ahead and do the balloon-tied-to-goal courtesy though. Tie red balloons on the goal I'm supposed to be attacking so I know which way to run.

I can do some animals! (The things you learn being a dad!) Would you prefer a horse or dragonfly?

There was so much sexual tension in that last exchange. I'll need to step outside . . .

Great. Now I've got to see who we play. We don't by chance have Little United for the next 6 weeks?

Wow, 4-6 weeks. That depth will be tested. Good chance for K. Jones to prove his worth.

From what I understand about Tata, he will persist in playing his system. He won't change his system to accommodate a new player. I wonder who he will find to play there? Does Kenwyn fit?

From what I recall of Jones in Chattanooga he's glacial in comparison to Martinez. Based on this highlight package of his goals I see power, good aerial game, and precious few instances of splitting the CDs and taking a beauty of a through ball to go 1 on 1 with the keeper. There is an instance of him beating the trap so there's hope, I guess.

Just catching up. 4-6 weeks! That's some bad news. Martinez was really important.

I have to believe that Martino will change the game plan some if he rolls with Jones.

Ok, now that it's been several years (in dog months) since Martinez was injured - what's his estimated return date? Will we see him against DC?

That'd be five weeks I think? Unlikely he starts no matter what just due to fitness. I'd prefer he sits until he is 100% and minimize the risk of re-injury.

But it'd be some great news if he's ready. I can't find any recent information.

He's not even training yet as of this weekend.
