Why would Aston Villa want Schwarzer? Both American Brads are still there...that article doesn't make sense...then again its almost a year old:D

He looks solid in the Fulham match today. Wonder if he waits until after the WC to sign a new contract...he could make himself a few dollars.

Hopefully he continues to play at the highest level for at least one more year, so that we know we have a highly skilled and experienced GK for the Asian Cup in 2011. He hasn't looked like slowing down, so I can't see why he or Fulham would want to part ways.

I don't understand why he would want to move on either. I just found out that Fulham has a 24 y/o GK on loan to a CCC team and he is apparently doing well.

So maybe they just want to get younger in GK.

There's also talk that they're after Sebastien Frey, and both players would be expecting to be the club's #1, so God only knows what's really going on.

If he gets a contract that goes until he retires, and is then able to continue on as a coach, at a Champions League club...perfect.

This is beginning to drag on a bit now, the longer it goes on, the less likely it is to happen IMO. I agree Grinners, Schwarz deserves a taste of Champions League football, it would really cap off his playing career. Then he's got the coaching! :D

He's a good keeper, but surely he'll be riding pine at Arsenal? He might be number one initially, but I can't imagine that Wenger will be happy with him in the longer-term.

he's better than almunia, who was understudy for quite some time himself at arsenal, and he's far, far better than Fabianski or the other guy, i reckon i'd be better than them!

If Schwarzer does end up going to Arsenal, the one negative is that I'll definitely miss watching Flapianski in action.

Schwarzer is a very good keeper, but that's an absurd pricetag.

Well we just signed Brad Jones for 2.3 mill, and the Schwarz is double the keeper Jones could ever be :D

And now he's going back to Italy on loan.

I like the "Schwarzer is injured" line coming from Fulham in their first league match. Totally believable.
