Good find. One to keep an eye on. One of a few in Mexico I suspect are eligible for the US u18/20s.

Jaime is captaining Toluca's U20s this season.

Since this thread hasn't been updated in a while, iirc, he was in contention for Mexico's U20 World Cup team but ended up missing the cut.

He's registered with the first team this season. As we saw last night with Moreno, Requejo, Guido, et al, that doesn't mean he won't play with the U20s instead.

He made his pro debut last week in Copa MX, in that 3-0 loss to Tijuana.

He's now with Gavilanes de Matamoros, who play in Serie A of Liga Premier (a.k.a. third tier in Mexico).

And one of the other guys is someone I don't think we knew about here:

Sebastian Hernandez moved to Las Vegas with his family at six years old and has called the city his home ever since. Following a decorated prep career as a four-year starter at Bonanza High, including All-America honors, he starred at UNLV and helped the Rebels win a conference championship. His early pro ventures have taken him to Portland, Ore., Germany and France.
    Here's his college bio:

    http://www.lasvegaslightsfc.com/news_article/show/873451?referrer_id=2988909

    Interestingly, it says:

Personal: Daniel Sebastian Hernandez ... Born on Aug. 12, 1993, in Lake Tahoe, Calif. ... Son of Arutro and Angela Hernandez ... Has two brothers, Nick Barbari and Luis Barbari, and one sister, Adriana Acuna ... Brother Nick played pro indor soccer in Chicago, while Luis played at both CSU Bakersfield and professional in several European countries ... Majoring in criminal justice.
You have to go back a ways to find the old YA threads about Luis -- though I think we had his name as "Berbari."

Luis got very little mention on BigSoccer -- at least, that I can find. Some of it may have been pre-crash. But here's some info:

At the age of 23, he became the first American Citizen to play in Ukraine when he signed with Ukrainian First Leagueside FC Vorskla Poltava for the 1995–96 season, and helped the team gain promotion to the Ukrainian Premier Leagueafter finishing in first place.[3] Following his spell in the Ukraine, Berbari joined and captained the Nashville Metros for the 1997 A-League season.[4] Berbari returned to Europe for the 1998-1999 season when he signed with German Oberliga club SV Darmstadt 98 helping them finish at the top of the table and gaining promotion to the Regionalliga.

Never give up, kids! He made the team (as did Hernandez, mentioned above, and some guy named Fred):

All six players with Las Vegas roots who were originally signed to the club's preseason roster - Goalkeeper Angel Alvarez, Midfielder Adolfo Guzman, midfielder Sebastian Hernandez, defender Marco Cesar Jaime Jr., midfielder Julian Portugal and midfielder Matt Thomas.
