This was a great article: http://www.austinaztex.com/2012/07/...pher-tyrpak-credits-family-coach-for-success/ I didn't realize he had had so many concussion problems in the past. That's scary and really unfortunate, especially considering how many professional options he may have ahead of him. I know I'll be holding my breath from now on every time his head is involved in a play.
Concussions are a b****, and we've had our fill even before Kris. Eddie Johnson, who played in the 2009 and 2010 seasons before being sold to the MLS bound Portland Timbers, had 3 after arriving with the Timbers. A number of us Aztex and/or Timbers fans were worried about how he'd cope, and he showed the result when he retired earlier in the season as a direct result. Kris has worn what to many looks like a head band, but is in actually a protective device to help reduce the instances of concussion. It doesn't seem to slow him down, as he evidenced by his brace in New Orleans this past Saturday.
