Spurs head to the Middle Eastlands with a surprise 1-0 lead from the first leg, thanks to a late Son strike. We will be without Harry Kane (ankle), Serge Aurier (hamstring), Eric Dier (hip flexor) and Harry Winks (groin), while Dele (hand) and Lamela (hamstring) will be in the squad but doubtful to start. Listening to Pep Guardiola's comments, it looks like he is trying to whip his team and the Manc crowd into a frenzy like he did with success for the Liverpool fixture in the PL. They were very agressive in the first game and were clearly trying to injure our key players so we will have to be strong and keep our heads, especially in the opening stages of the game. With Kane out, it looks like Poch will counter with a pacy strike force of Son and Moura. Our best bet will be to be tight at the back and hit them on the break.
Here are the teams! Manchester City (4-1-2-3) Ederson; Walker, Kompany, Laporte, Mendy; Gundogan; De Bruyne, D Silva; B Silva, Aguero, Sterling. Substitutes: Muric, Stones, Sane, Fernandinho, Mahrez, Otamendi, Jesus. Tottenham Hotspur (possible 4-4-2) Lloris; Trippier, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose; Wanyama; Sissoko, Eriksen; Dele; Lucas Moura, Son. Substitutes: Gazzaniga, Sanchez, Walker-Peters, Llorente, Foyth, Davies, Skipp. Referee Cuneyt Cakir. Interesting that their goon-in-chief Fernandinho starts on the bench. Our team picks itself, not a whole lot on our bench to change the game.
Again, Son and Toby are on yellows and they would miss the first leg of the semis if booked tonight. With all our injuries we can't afford to lose anybody.
City play a long ball out left - they are going to try to isolate Sterling on Trippier - our mids will have to drop back and support him.
Eriksen plays a square ball, Laporte with a bad touch and Sonny sweeps it in off the left leg of Ederson.
Son-o-Kane! Between the two of them Spurs will always have a mighty scoring weapon (I know Kane is not available, but still)
with Ajax waiting in the semis.. Sprus have a great chance of winning the CL before Arsenal ever do...
