We made our first trial run at the Club America game. A few of you came and talked to us at the tailgate and game and were very supportive, thanks so much.

We were the four people in orange dress shirts and black ties, standing with El Batallon all game.
The original four are as follows:
me- the blond guy, an idea guy
Grimlen (lurker)- tall lankey guy did alot of the talking, seemed to take a post as representative
The girl (not on bs)- redheaded girl, seemed to garner extra interest from the gentlemen in EB. also dyed the shirts for us.
"Silky"(not on bs)- our source of soul

We are hoping to make the Dallas game in Dallas, complete with a signiture flag. Our plans are to start attending every game next year, complete with recruiting, which brings us to paragraph four.

A short sleeve dress shirt from wal-mart will run you about 12 dollars (even though im sure most of you have old ones lying around), and a couple packs of rid dye (sunshine orange) will be about 4 or 5. after that all it will take is standing with us (most likely within TA, until/if size requires a move). Oh yeah, and any black tie.

We'll post pictures, logos, and the like as we come up with them. Thanks so much for everything.

Oh, and where is that thread on how to start an SG (as far as contacting the FO and all that)

wow, when I saw "Magnolia," thought you were talking about the neighborhood in the East End, there are definitely EB guys from Magnolia Park. Don't know that I've ever heard Houston called "Magnolia City."

also, hope you guys caught your first media whore moment during the Telefutura broadcast of the CA game, I wondered who were the people in the shirts and ties standing in EB...

It could be in reference to the town Magnolia, at least that's what I thought of when I saw the name.
    http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=magnolia,+tx&ie=UTF8&ll=29.918043,-95.497284&spn=0.915318,1.834717&z=10&om=1

Regardless, it was good to see you at the game.

Colbert doesn't deface wikipedia, he has his minions do it for him. Plus, since anything he says is fact it's not defacing, simply updating facts.

I noticed you at the game but only for a moment. I tend to get pretty wrapped up in it all. Glad you could make it and look forward to seeing you out more often.

its updating reality, if you say the number of african elephants has tripled over the past three years, you have just saved a species. (how do i remember every last stunt?)

On the dress shirts and black ties - is that just to look cool or is there a backstory?

i grew up going to rice football games and from the begining have always loved the mob (marching owl band for non houstonians) (way better than rice football), for thier laid backitiy as well as their wardrobe. this stuck with me as i grew up. i listened to ska music in high school (still do), and wear ties for no specific occasion on occasion.

told grimlen about the idea one day and we went with it.

    thanks, you're a poor man's Joseph Conrad.

good luck on forming your supporter's group. you'll need it.

btw, i would wait on contacting the FO until there is more than 4 of you....or you can always break something and then they will call you. :D

thats the plan, the four of us are at least getting season tickets next year, inviting friends to most of those games.
seriously we'll wither and die without help from TA/EB.

It sounds great that y'all are starting up a new supporters group. I had a thought though. Y'all could also wear black hats and sunglasses, like the Blues Brothers:
