Josh is currently the second highest scorer, with 8, on the Primavera squad. Mlakar is first, with 10. Their respective positions in Girone A are 8 and 13. OT, but interesting, the leading scorer in Girone A is Allesandro Rossi of Lazio with an incredible 21 goals. The next highest has 14.
JP on the bench (after playing 90 on Thurs) in the Viareggio Cup group play fixture with Perugia. Match is currently 0 - 0 at half time.
It ended 2-1 for Fiorentina, who wins the group. They made five substitutions, out of six allowed. Perez didn't play.

Every year Fiorentina is expected to make semis for this tournament: they've won it eight times, finished second seven, third six. In the last ten years, though, they've only made the final once. Today, though, they lost to Sassuolo in the Round of 16, by PKs after a 1-1 tie. This is a bad result for them. Last year at least they made the QF and got eliminated by Inter. And that was already a bad result. PS: Perez got replaced around the 30' by Gabriele Gori.
No, he wasn't injured, from what I've read. It was just a tactical sub. This from his Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/p/BR_JP9_DIsv/ "We deserved this win but, we were unlucky at the end... Our focus now is on the league title" PS: Match details can be found here: http://www.viareggiocup.com/component/torneo/?task=tabellino&id=68&Itemid=171
Played 90 (subbed out at 90) in a 5 - 2 comeback win over Lazio. Fiorentina are in second with four games left in the regular season. Practically a lock for the playoffs.
The Campionato Primavera is divided in three regions of 14 teams each. Top two from each region qualify directly to the final playoff, while the best eight from all regions who are not Top Two go to the qualifying playoff. There, the two semifinal winners qualify for the final playoff where they join the other six. Fiorentina stands at 45/+35 with four games left. That places them second in their region. However, this is a tight year, and the last of the eight (Genoa 43/+10, although Empoli has yet to play and with a win displace Genoa out, moving Milan 43/+12 to the last qualifying spot) is still a win away from surpassing La Viola.
Starts for Primavera vs Vicenza, an important game to hold onto their second place spot for playoffs. A fifth primavera player this year, Mlakar, got the call for the first team this week.
Fiorentina tied away 2-2 & Verona won their away game, which means La Viola drops to #3 in their region. Still solidly among the eight teams for the playoff, and next week they have an easy game at home versus Perugia, while Verona gets the leaders, Lazio.
I'll never not like that press conference. Always makes me laugh. That, Iverson, and Dennis Green's are my favorites
