Mael Corboz in Germany

seen some mention that Corboz is going on trial to 4th division Wacker Nordhausen in the next few days.

Mael has signed with Wattenscheid 09 in Germany's Regionalliga West

 

A Bundesliga club....for a few seasons in the early 90s.

got an update on this looks like he trialled at

4th division-Wacker Nordhausen
3rd division-FC Carl Zeiss Jena

and then to his current team in 4th division, Wattenscheid 09. 3 clubs in 3 weeks. Doesn't really sound like good news, a 23 year old struggling to find a club that wants him. His current team is unlikely to get promoted too.

 

Oh boy that can’t be very good, what does a third division player make?

 

Corboz isn’t a very high level player. It’s unclear if he was even USL level.

 

Well, he started regularly for Wilmington as a rookie before moving to Duisburg half way through the 2016 season.

But given his inability to even sniff the 18 for Duisburg when they were pushing for promotion in the 3. Liga and later in the 2.Bundesliga indicates that getting a gig at another 3. Liga club was going to be a stretch.

Mael started, went 90 as Wattenscheid traveled to Oberhausen and snagged an away point in a 1 - 1 draw in Germany's Regionalliga West

 

It looks like his contract has been extended at SGW09.
