Wow. [emoji23] Alvaro Odriozola is Bayern's priority to strengthen their RB position. [@cfbayern] https://t.co/PzpJLPVFXx— Infinite Madrid (@InfiniteMadrid) January 21, 2020 Top candidate for right back @FCBayern: Alvaro Odriozola (24, @realmadrid) @SPORTBILD @BILD_Sport— Christian Falk (@cfbayern) January 21, 2020
Odriozola has been absolute trash ,he can leave i dont care.I thought that it couldnt get worse than Danilo but i was wrong .........Danilo didnt look like a profesional player on the pitch but Odriozola has been even worse......... Nacho is great as a fullback i believe him to cover well for Carvajal,if it is 1/2 final of the CL and Carvajal is injured ...who do you start Nacho or Odriozola.....i think its easily Nacho
Obviously Odriozola hasn't had a good season so far. Still think he could get back to his better form when he was with Sociedad if he was playing regularly. Management should really consider keeping him if Marcelo decides he wants a change of scenery.
I agree. He strikes me as one of those players who will become better when he leaves to get more gt. But to be honest Madrid don't Need him..
Hakimi over Odri and Carva is only 28. So I don't see a future for Odri here. ZZ seems to have lost faith in him as he put in disaster class at Celta and Mallorca away. He could succeed elsewhere like Theo, but unlikely at RM.
Oh well looks like he wants game time already. I can understand since he's probably gunning for a spot in Spain NT.
Seems like he's gone to Bayern. Good move for everyone. Hopefully he plays well and we can sell him in the summer. Has no future here, and after that Mallorca debacle, the coach (and frankly myself as a fan) had lost faith in him.
Not having a proper back up right back is a problem. Nacho can fill in I guess but what if he’s needed elsewhere? I don’t like it... Not saying Odri is great or anything but we need a proper backup RB unless we think Carvajal will play every game at RB for the rest of the season which is a dumb idea.
I’m currently more comfortable with Nacho as a FB than both both Odri and Carvajal to be honest, so I’m not to upset by this move.
I think with the lack of trust there is with Ordiozola, it's like we don't have a proper RB anyway. I'd rather build up his value for a sale in the summer than stash him when the coach will not use him. Not worried about the RB position, Nacho and Militao can step in, and Lucas can play there to to spare us from seeing him further up front. BTW, I'm not sure about anyone else, but I'm excited to see what Zidane can do with Asensio, especially with the current line up. Maybe it's foolish, but I still think Zidane will get the best out of him, and having the technical abilities of Hazard, Benz and Asensio up front should cause teams tons of problems. Not to mention, with the freedom to shoot from anywhere, you can unleash that lethal left foot of his.

Militao played as a rightback with Porto after Pepe joined them last season. I admitted not watching much of Porto, but I have seen him as a rightback.
If he can play there, he should be in the rotation, it helps build the understanding between him and the other center backs and let's be honest Dani desperately needs competition for a starting spot
Militao is a center back, not saying he can’t play on the right in an emergency situation but he’s a center back through and through.
Indeed, personally I have no desire to see him play LB or RB, unless it’s absolutely necessary, don’t think I’d be getting rid of Odri now, he’s had some bad games but everyone has bad games, but maybe ZZ just doesn’t trust him, I’d wait till the summer before I let him go without an adequate replacement though, if he does go now I think that Nacho will be the player to benefit most as the backup for Carvajal

I think any player with the ability to read a play and defend and has athleticism should be able to play at left or right back. The position requires defensive contribution, ability to run the pitch, speed but it's the least specialized of any position on the pitch. There is the issue of turning into a challenge which makes left or right footed relevant but by definition an elite athlete should be able to play that position with the caveats I mentioned earlier.
