and while in MLS now was a regular starter in Ligue 1 until a year ago and has also played in European competition with goals against Bundesliga and Eredivise teams. I am happy that Gooch had a good cup game against a League Two Opponent, and hopefully this will get him more starts for Sunderland. With steady play he could get some opportunities to get a look after the WCQs (or at the last one if we can secure qualification beforehand). Regardless, hopefully we can qualify and then schedule some European friendlies to give some of our prospects a chance to come to a camp to see if they belong.
Then don't include him in a sentence where you reference "young attacking prospects." You are not good at this whole discussion thing.
Emo Hyndman, Haji Wright, just off the top of my head. although Haji is on loan. emo looks to break through at Bournemouth. This is a YA thread and we try and avoid conversations about the Nats prospects other than the player in the thread. Make no mistake about it though most here are USMNT fans too and are really rooting for the guy to earn a spot and show well. Speed cannot be taught. Gooch could win the Championship player of the year, and calling that club a dumpster fire would still be an insult to dumpster fires everywhere. It is more a like a mountain of rubber tires on fire, hanging around for years, slowly choking the life out of everything around it. (FTR: "better than Zardes " is not what many consider evidence that he is professional footballer Plenty of suckitude between Zardes level and professional footballer even if he is managing to steal a paycheck.)

It's not really a traditional U-21 match... U-21 teams are allowed to play in the English Football League Trophy competition which is comprised of teams from league one (3rd division) and league two (fourth division) teams + 16 U-21 sides. So it's a bit different than a simple U-21 match. For instance, tonight they are playing Scunthorpe which is a league one team.
Yes, I have no issue with him playing, and wasn't even as focused on Gooch, but just found it odd for a team to risk potential injury to four first team squad players in an U-21 match. I figured maybe it was about match fitness or injury recovery time, but was happy for kruck's explanation that the trophy is not really a traditional u-21 match.
Damn, I remember when Jack Rodwell was gonna BE somebody. Is it that he's not that good...or he's SO BAD that he's REALLY GOOD?!?!?!
didn't he start out playing up top with the Sunderland youth teams? It's only 39 pages back, but it is 39 Sunderland pages...

Between Emo and J.Gonzalez, I'll take the Monterrey kid in a heart beat, he seems to be the better all around player under 140 lbs.
