If it's Ron Atkinson, then it's true, he is speaking shite.

Guessing probably his little pet name for Ronaldo.

Well there is a link. The opinion is that good footballers don't necessarily use their mouth well. Pele hasn't so there's every possibility that 'Big Ron' isn't great in that area either.

And surely football is even less about EX footballers.
And you wouldn't say Pele's ego has been a tad over inflated of late?
The way he had to give them the trophy was just pathetic.

If just Pele answered to criticism like Ronaldo does...

    Pele Responds To Scolari's Criticism

Not sure how Felipao saying that Ronaldo won't ever be the same player is somehow an 'attack', unless something
else was said recently that I'm not aware of.

Pele has made a habit of criticizing other selections of
Brazil in the past, and while he's entitled to his opinion, he's not entitled to a free ride from criticism for them.

You may not have noticed but Ronaldo IS big - literally.

Well there is a link. The opinion is that good footballers don't necessarily use their mouth well. Pele hasn't so there's every possibility that 'Big Ron' isn't great in that area either.

Whose opinion is that?...have you ever played pro soccer?...no?...then how valid is your opinion? I suppose bad ex soccer players use thier mouth well.

And surely football is even less about EX footballers.
And you wouldn't say Pele's ego has been a tad over inflated of late?
The way he had to give them the trophy was just pathetic.

My point is people remember great teams first becos of the players and the coach second. Can you name me a great player who's humble?
How should've Pele' handed the trophy?

    Wot's the difference?

Well Ronaldo seems to think it's a criticism otherwise he wouldn't have replied in kind...would he.

Pele has made a habit of criticizing other selections of Brazil in the past, and while he's entitled to his opinion, he's not entitled to a free ride from criticism for them.

Lets stick with the current issue...are you saying that Scolari and you fans are right to abuse Pele simply becos he didn't think Brazil were favourites for the WC2002?

So, conflating my remarks with 'abuse of Pele' puts
me in the same boat as Felipao?

To answer your question: Pele has a right to
his opinions. What he dosen't have a right to
is for those opinions to go unchallenged, great
    player or no.

FWIW, no, I didn't think that the selecao would
win the WC, but I did think they'd be favourites
due to their group to get at least to the quarters.
