Robles got a call up to the first team as Macho's backup as Kaiserslautern tied Eintract Braunschweig 1-1.
Please someone clarify for me as I do not fully understand. Robles has been playing for FCK II, refered to as the amateur level of the FCK club. If Robles has been playing under amateur status, does being called up to the 1st team, which plays in the 2nd division, affect his amateur status at all? Will he then just go back to the II team after this game and no change to his status because he did not play? I thought the whole idea of playing in Europe at an amateur status was to have more flexibility in catching on the next season possibly with a pro team somewhere in Europe so that the obstacle of transfer fees, etc. weren't in the way, or a deterrent monetarily, of another team signing the current amateur player.
Robles is not a licensed player. Non-licensed players, "amatures", can play for the first team on a temporary basis without a change in their status. "Amatures" under contract who are loaned or sold to another team can still get transfer fees. An "amature" has his salary allocated to the reserve side. A "licensed" player has his salary allocated to the 1st team.
I pulled this off of another site. It is basically correct: Code: Under current DFB rules, full professionals under 23 can play in the amateur squad, as long as they don't play in the "A" squad in the same weekend. With a mix of superb young professional talent and seasoned amateurs, these clubs have risen in strength in the last few years, and have become quite strong in their presence in all Regionalliga, with the exception of the Nordost. As a result, there is no "reserve" competition or informal matches. In 2005, the motly collection of "B" squads, varyingly known as "Amateur", "U23", "U21", "II" etc. were all renamed to "II". The DFB has also instituted various rules to encourage the development of youth players, by requiring minimum number of U23 players on each roster. Supposedly new regulations will lessen the impact of Bundesliga clubs "loaning" their pros to their "amateur" squads. This raises another important issue, the actual definition of "amateur". The Bundesliga and 2.Liga are strictly professional. The Regionalliga and below are "amateur". The DFB plans for the Regionalliga to become completely professional, but still waffles on this issue. However this is clouded by the existance of the Vertragsamateur (contract amateur). Basically this arrangement allows the player to receive a salary from the club, along with fringe benefits (apartment, car, job, etc.).
Yep. That's possibly another reason why they dropped the suffix "Amateure" from reserves side and replaced it by "II". In Germany, everyone who doesn't play 1. or 2. Bundesliga is called "amateur". This has nothing to do with how much you earn or if you can live from being a soccer player - almost all Regionalliga players are full-time pros. As mentioned in the text Zak posted, the only difference is that players below Bundesliga level sign different contracts. From 08/09 on the 3rd level will become officialy pro as well.
Robles is not getting the start against SV Darmstadt 98. Clauss, who has been injured most of the year and is retiring, will be in goal. Kicker lists Fromlowitz on the bench for Sunday's game against FC Carl Zeiss Jena, but he should still be serving his red card suspension. Robles should be the backup for this Bls 2 game.
Robles obviously did not play, but Kaiserslautern II got drilled by Darmstadt 4-0 after they had a player sent off with a red.
Although Robles have up 3 goals (one an own goal by his defender) against SC Pfullendorf he was named one of the men of the match. Kaiserslautern mustered only one shot on goal the entire game and rarely got the ball over the half line. Robles had a number of excellent saves and kept the game from being much much worse.
Robles will be getting the start in 1. FC Saarbrücken. This game will be nuts. Saarbrucken are big rivals and since they currently only play in the Regionaliga South this is a big game. Last fall when this game was in Kaiserslautern they had to move it to into Fritz Walter because Saarbrucken traveled with so many fans. I doubt this will be at capacity, 35286, but it will be their largest match of the year. Fromlowitz was called up for the U-21 German National Team and will be unavailable for the last two games. Robles will get the start in both.
0-0 tie at Saarbrucken. Robles gets the clean sheet. Saarbrucken came out hard in the first half and had several good chances, but Robles had several saves early. Saarbrucken's fans jeered the team at half time and then did not have many good chances in the second half. In the second half, Robles finally had a solid defense in front of him.
Sorry if this has already been posted. Robles is not returning to FCK. I think he has signed with another club near Munich but not Bayern or 1860.
I cannot find any info on this. Can you confirm somewhere? The speculation has been that he would not be around next year since his signing was an emergency need of a keeper, but he has not been on any list of releases yet. There was also talk the he and the club were in discussions for next year. One of the keepers in front of him left and another retired.
In a game that the DFB moved to Leverkusan because of a threat of violence, Kaiserslautern II lost to Siegen 0-2 with Robles in goal. This was the last game of the season and Kaiserslautern II is relegated to the Oberliga. Using a lot of players from the youth team, Kaiserslautern was able to hold off Seigen for a half, but in the end Seigen, who were playing to avoid relegation, were too much for the young defense.
Robles was a on a list of players, released by the club yesterday, who are leaving Kaiserslautern II. No word on where he is going yet.
He's now on trial at newly promoted St. Pauli Came on in the second half of their most recent friendly (as did Ian Joy)
I am glad. Kaiserslautern liked what they saw, but he just did not fit into the reserve team. The number 2 and 3 keepers are German youth national goal keepers and Robles would have counted as an over 23 this year. He has a bright future.
Luis Robles was seen training with Kaiserslautern yesterday. With the last minute transfer of Jurgan Macho to AEK Athens Kaiserslautern was in need of a 3rd goalie. The depth chart should look like this: Fromlowitz (20) U-21 German National Team Sippel (17) Former U-17 German National Team, should get a call up for the U-19. Robles (23) Look to see him get some playing time if the reserve/amateur team are playing at a similar time as the 1st team. This would have been the case last week when Sippel showed up to the game less than an hour before start time. Sippel will be getting most of the deployments for the reserve team.
What league is Kaiserslautern in and why would Robles stick around when younger guys are above him in the depth chart? Always seems strange to me about some YA moves
The reserve team that Robles will be playing for is in the Oberliga (4th level). The first team in the Bundesliga 2 with a strong chance to move back up to the Bundesliga where they have spent almost all of their existance. To answer your second question: experience and playing time. He had trials at a couple clubs over the summer, but nothing stuck. He is out of contract, hence his ability to be signed after the end of the transfer period. Bear in mind Robles was an emergency signing in January because of injuries to four goalies. He needs to seize the opportunity.
