Thanks for the pix. Nice. (I venture that's a straight-outta-bounds outside-the-box clearance there.)
You didn't read the ESPN article on Hoffenheim a few weeks back? Tsk, tsk.... There are some good reasons why that stadium was full!
Well, that stadium doesn't hold more than 5000 so it's pretty easy to get it full. I doubt they will able to fill their new stadium though. It's going to have 30.000 capacity: http://www.tsg-hoffenheim.de/assets/downloads/Stadion4.jpg More info about the Hoffenheim-project here: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showthread.php?t=260222&highlight=hoffenheim
I want to own/operate the beer und wurst stand outside that stadium. I'll become a multi-millionaire like the SAP guy, I tell ya'. I'd have no competition.
That is what I thought, just looked a little odd with the defender right there and the location of the ball.
I hope he can stay healthy! He spent most of the three years I watched him at univesity injured. Played but rarely practiced. He's a solid guy so at that level he could get away with missing practices. My take on Luis is that he makes incredible saves..but is prone to making silly mistakes.
If you consider that their average attendance is just slightly above 3000, it seems as if it isn't that easy for them .
Robles did not play at home against Elvesburg. Fromlowitz is back and the first team was off for the week. Next game is not until April 7 in Aalen. Robles may play since the first team is at Wacker Burghausen on Sunday April 8. He will not sit on the bench for the first team this week or next.
Kaiserslautern II, with Robles in goal, won 1-4 in Eintrach Bad Kreuznach in the quarterfinals of the Verbandspokal. Robles had a number of great saves, including a phenomenal one in the 28th minute, but was helped by Kaiserslautern keeping the pressure on Bad Kreuznach. Bad Kreuznach is an Oberliga Südwest team, which is probably where the Kaiserslautern amatures will be playing next year.
With Robles in goal, Kaiserslautern II won a semifinal Verbandspokal game in TuS Hohenecken 4-1. Robles had a clean sheet until the 84th minute when one of several Hohenecken late corners found the back of the net. The final will be against Wormatia Worms on May 1.
Robles was one of only 3 players to play the entire game in Kaiserslautern's 4-1 win over Oberliga TuS Hohenecken in a friendly match. Robles gave up a goal in the 30th minute, but was largely out of the run of play. Robles was also the only Kaiserslautern player out of the 19 who played who has not seen first team action (he has sat the bench on 3 occasions). All proceeds of the game were given to Hohenecken to help defray some of their mounting financial costs.
Robles played in an away loss at Stuttgart II, 3-2. Kaiserslautern went up early, but gave up goals in the 22nd, 45th, 86th minute all on quick counters. Kaiserslautern scored a late goal to narrow the score. Kaiserslautern put a lot of pressure on Stuttgart, but paid for it with Stuttgart's counters. Robles will next play in the Southwest Regional Cup final on May 1 against Wormatia Worms. Amature teams are not allowed to use professional players in these regional cup games. The winner gets a birth in next years DFB Cup.
Hey, we're talking German high culture here! When that they had journeyed / full nine days on their way, Then spake of Tronje Hagen: / "Now hear what I shall say. We tarry with the tidings / for Worms upon the Rhine. At Burgundy already / should now be messengers of thine."
Luis Robles and Kaiserslautern II lose 1-0 to Wormatia Worms in the Southwest Verbandspokal final. Worms scored in the 80th minute, but the entire game was played on Kaiserslautern's side of the field with them only managing one shot on goal. The fact that Robles only allowed one goal is nothing short of amazing. Worms gets a birth in the DFB cup.
