Muriel starts for Sevilla vs Barca in the supercopa and picks up the ball in the middle, draws the two CB's with his threat on the ball and puts a perfect chance on a plate for Sarabia who puts Sevilla up 1-0. This is what you need when you are counter attacking, great CF play.
Creates another chance beating his man to the touchline and cutting back for Sarabia who has a shot saved by Ter Stegen, Muriel has been all of Sevilla's offense running at the Barca backline in the first half. He always seems to create havoc when he plays, refine that finishing a little bit and he will be a hell of a player but he's gotta do it in the next couple years before his athleticism starts to trail off.
Ya, Muriel was their best player but he worked his ass off pressing their defenders and covering a ton of ground, he was gassed. His work rate is really high in games pressing from the front, hard to keep that up for 90 especially first game of the season imo.
Sevilla beat Real Madrid 3-0...without Muriel. I am very concerned that they won't see a reason to use him.
Andre Silva and Ben Yeder are on fire for Sevilla this far. Eventually they will cool down, but if it’s December and Muriel is struggling for playing time, he should hopefully put in a loan request or something
They wanted to get rid of him before the summer ended. They just paid a ton for him. Hopefully he gets a transfer and can start some place. He just disappointing especially at 28. Had super high expectations for him. He can’t just not play in his prime.
Muriel disappointed me in the Argentina friendly. For a guy who has been arguably “shortchanged” playing time over the last four years, he didn’t do anything to make a case for himself.
He just super hyped since he was at Cali. People hate Bacca but still waiting on Muriel. We need strikers to pop up and a LB for Copa America. Goalies really want to see no Ospina next 2 games and Banguera, Montero and Arbolera to get their shots.

Muriel subbed in late and managed to assist their 3rd goal a minute later. At least he upped his stats somewhat.
Muriel wasn't subbed in but Sevilla are on top of the league. This season has been quite interesting so far.

Muriel was key for most of Sevilla's best games last year vs Barca and vs Man United as well in the champions league. Sometimes his finishing lets him down for sure, but he works hard for the team, makes runs and pressures a ton which is very useful. He can see a pass and can play wide or inside and is always working for his team wherever he plays. It would be nice to see him get some more games for Sevilla playing alongside Silva. Time will tell but they have a log jam with Ben Yedder, Silva, Muriel and Promes, I'd like to see him continue at Sevilla but its probably better for his career to leave in January.
