You are talking like is the first time you watch it this season.....he have been playing well. HWe all know thgat he perfoms better as second top that as "9"
How does me saying he had a poor game have anything to do with his prior games this season? Fyi I have watched him, your logic sometimes is mindblowing.
Why the personal offense always?? My point wasnt refered if you watched him before or not.....is that he performed better by the wings or second top., despite he have played at 9.......in this match he didnt have the possibility to start from there. Man you always have to be so agrresive when you read a post that you dont like.i........snt the first time........
Muriel gave everything over both legs but he's not clinical enough to lead the line as a real 9 yet, he looked nervous and uncomfortable. Hopefully he learns and is better, he does offer his team a lot more then just goals but he needs to work on his shooting and he needs to limit the shots from far out, he's a good dribbler and playing against DeGea, keep driving at the defense rather then settling.
No man isnt so basic. and so obvious. otherwise, The coach should rstart to think that Muriel position shouldnt be as lonely striker but as second top or wing as he was playing in italy.,....instead of competing the spot of 9 with ben yedder,
I completely agree that both Muriel and Ben Yedder should both start. Muriel isn't a pure 9 and has difficulty playing with his back against the goal, is a lot more effective on the wings. But you know Montella is a mediocre coach and will most likely plug in Ben Yedder for Muriel. I'm afraid Muriel has lost his starting spot for the quarterfinals, especially with the immediate impact BY made coming off the bench, Sevilla was sleepwalking before that.
But rememeber Bacca..........Bacca was the one that scored , the top scorer last season.......still sub No, the injustice could come against ben yedder.
They would be better off He should drop Vasquez and play Muriel there if anything, Vasquez was really bad. Muriel has given a lot when he's been starting even when he doesn't score his work and movement are very good. Only problem with starting them both is they don't have another striker to come off the bench as a sub, either way Sevilla play pretty well but when they get into the attack they don't have a ton of ideas or movement to break down higher level opponents.
As I have said many times before Montella loves Muriel and has a lot of faith in him and loyalty to him. I don't think he will bench him. At worst it may be a rotation where Muriel starts the rest of La Liga matches and Yedder starts Champions League in a rotation or something like that. But we shall see..
They been interchangeable all season. Ben Tedder starts then Muriel starts. It’s like they are really going toe to toe for a permanent starting position
It have depend more in the coach The starter for berizzo was Ben Yedder The starter for Montella was Muriel Hope they play together....
Hola ! Hombres, aqui una corta entrevista (en francés...) en nuestro sitio de Luis Muriel, realizada después de Francia - Colombia : https://www.cafooteros.com/2018/03/24/là-où-je-me-sens-le-mieux-c-est-quand-je-pars-de-derrière/
You know, looking at how Muriel played, I think that if he didn't help with the first goal then he would be dropped; I feel that him being selfish when he stole the ball and did not pass it to Falcao could have cost the team. Yeah we won but you never know where that can lead.
I agree. If he scored all the chances he has he wouldn't be playing in Sevilla but Barcelona. He is a great winger but a so so striker, it's a shame, when he started I Saw all that raw Ronaldo (the fat one) talent in him. But he never got better at shooting.
His best asset is that he runs and hustles & does skillful dribbles and makes the opposing defenders get tired and go crazy. We saw it all the way back in Santiago during Qualifying when he was a main reason we got the point down there. Glad we saw glimpses of that again in France. I hope to see more of it in the future.
