I can see Yairo being a guy that Uribe will be providing cover for and vice versa. Yairo will hopefully feature in more minutes next set of friendlies - I see potential for him.
That's more James' fault than Cuadrado's. James will always drop back and look for overlapping runs. Especially with Medina in place of Arias, Cuadrado had to fill in that space. For me, Cuadrado stopped deserving to be a #1 starter for Colombia YEARS ago. What he does for Juve is irrelevant to me. BUT, that 8 role next to Barrios is tailor-made for the player Cuadrado's become. Lots of scrap and physicality needed there. And if there's no creative player on the pitch, Cuadrado does step it up. Luckily, Quieroz isn't settling. Yairo came in and beasted. I get the feeling Munoz might shine as well. Diaz is competing with Roger and Muriel. And, potentially very soon, Sinisterra and Carrascal. Colombia has gotten much deeper recently.[/QUOTE] Great points - especially about Cuadrado. He is continuing to evolve his role on the pitch and plays like a midfield general. Once he’s gone I think we will appreciate and understand better what he truly brought to the table. And hopefully his style of play will be absorbed and taken to greater levels by the guys like Diaz, Yairo, Villa, etc who will hopefully shine in this cycle and future cycles to come.
Cuadrado as a winger imo is washed for us, he doesn't really play high when he's in a front 3 and keeps dropping deep and central anyways. If he wasn't perfect for the 8 spot and perfect to overlap and switch with James (which is a good thing not a bad, James shouldn't be out wide making runs off the ball and he shouldn't have to do a ton of defensive work so it fits perfect) then he should be on the bench, but he's got a deserved lifeline here. We need to look for back ups for that role though.
2 goals and one assist today in victory of porto The difference when is a coach that explote the habiliities of their players
Was discussing this with a Portuguese friend the other day. It's what makes Porto such a great destination. I recall Falcao talking about how Jesualdo Ferreira helped him become a better 9.
This kind of rhetoric is neither constructive for the conversation nor is it something that relates to the thread topic directly. And it is a bit confusing because in the other thread you said that you cannot predict the future and you do not know how we will play under CQ. You also said that you are not saying that you want him fired. But then you come on here and say that we don't have the right portuguese coach in a definitive manner. Make up your mind and stop talking out of both sides of your mouth dude.
As happy as I am that Diaz scored a brace yesterday, Porto played against a third division team. It is performances like this though the should hopefully continue to allow him to be a core member of the team hardly a game to be doing cartwheels about for coaching tactics LOL
I looked at the schedule to see who they play next and it is Morelos and Rangers on Thursday. Hopefully it is a 5-4 type of match with lots of Colombian Goals.
Oh dear Homie explained me what i have to post and dont have to post....the poster that always want to read what he wants. Is related Diaz is a player of our National Team and havent played the same there recently. Diaz as well as another of our players have been wasted and that is sad, because is important to take advantage of our players.... Please dont tell other posters what to think or what to say. I cant predict future but i think that he isnt the right option. What is the confusion???
Implying that Queiroz is not the right manager for him while at the same time saying you are not asking him to be fired just seems a bit weird to me and it is also unrelated to what the posts pertaining to Porto are discussing It is kind of like when Crzd tries to bring up Pekerman in every thread. I am not telling you what to say or what to think specifically. I am just saying you are talking from both sides of your mouth which is a bit silly.
Is a shame that we wasted in National Team the talent of a player that is having a good season like Diaz.....as happened before with pinto and bolillo, not taking adavantage of the moment of our players. Hope he continues like this.
Some around here think that it is more on the player and that he is not ready for the National Team stage. I think the epitome of this was the Brasil match near the end when we had a very nice counter chance to win the match and he flubbed it as more of a self-inflicted error. You seem to think it is the manager and the tactics that is not utilizing his talent correctly which is a valid concern and a point I can agree with certainly. Maybe the answer lies somewhere in between?
