Fulham needs to concede and play their kids already. They are 16 points down with 6 games to play. There's not a snowball's chance in hell they make that up. Are only hurting their chances of a quick bounceback to the EPL and solid transfer fees/loan opportunities. De La Torre would benefit from this strategy and get 6 games to make his mark. One would think he'd be on the list considering he featured during Cup play. Should get a real chance to show his stuff at the top level. Surely he'd be a focal point in the Championship then.
He hasn't even played for the reserves since December. I doubt Fulham will suddenly start playing him in the EPL.
I take that as meaning the opposite. That is unless he's injured, and it hasn't been well publicized. He's a squad player, permanently up with the 1st team, after his strong Cup performances. He started his last u23 match and it wasn't a bad result. They were reportedly dead-set on loaning him out in the transfer window. Then they didn't pull the trigger. That indicates to me he was part of the all hands on deck approach because the Titanic was sinking. Stashed him in case there was attrition.
Could be, but it reminds me a bit of the Lletget situation at AV. Like Lletget, De La Torre is a technical player with some athletic shortcomings. Too good for reserves, but not convincing the coach to actually play him.
FYP...been a West Ham follower since around those days. A few senior guys in the squad at that time asked in the media why Lleget wasn't getting any time, or at least intimated as such. Has anyone come out for DLT in the same way? Just curious

Made the bench for Fulham's Premier League finale, but did not play as Fulham lost 4-0 at home to Newcastle.
He was called with the U23 team. https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/20...ng-camp-roster-gold-cup-preparation-annapolis What will happen to him next season? He will get minutes with the first team or look for a loan? I think he has a lot of talent to play in the Fulham U23.

This is an interesting lineup for them. The only people on the bench that I see playing in the 1st team this year are definitely Sessegnon (who might be their penciled in RB), Odoi (utility guy can play anywhere on the backline), and maybe Taylor-Crossdale (FW they picked up from Chelsea's youth setup). Their whole backline will play, with Bryan being the first choice LB. Marchand is the first CB off the bench if Ream continues to play well, but on form they are competing for a spot. McDonald is a D Mid that was a starter the two years before promotion, but barely saw the field last year. This might be them converting him to CB as he's in his 30s. Christie is some one that was a huge liability last year and will probably get phased out by Sessegnon. In the midfield obviously you have their new boy from Spurs (Onomah). Johanson has looked like he's been replaced by Arter and O'Reily is a youth prospect that was getting looks from the Bundesliga that they fought off. And then up front you have a new striker purchase in Decorvda-Reid who will be first attacking option off the bench. Kamara who amazingly is still with the team after being escorted out of the training field by the police and shipped off to Turkey on loan last year for taking a penalty away from Mitrovic and then getting in a row with him. And you have our boy. So this tells me that de la Torre is definitely in the mix for first team appearances through some combination of showing well and injury. Parker seems set on a 4-3-3 which given their personal makes sense. It also shows that de la Torre is not going to be trusted as a CM in his system. Which also makes sense. He's a bit of a tweener. Not fast enough to be an attacking wing and not creative enough to be an attacking midfielder. Honestly I think he should try and come back to the MLS/Liga MX ala Sebastian Lleget. He's in that realm of probably mid to low tier championship which means he's probably never going to be a Premier league player.
according to ESPN, LDlT came off in the 90th minute with Fulham down 1-0 and they were unable to equalize
Congrats to Luca on his 3rd annual League Cup appearance. Third time's the charm for actually building on that and getting real first-team experience...right, guys?
