A professional soccer player's #1 career objective should be praise on the Yanks Abroad forum. Nothing else should matter to them.
Comes in for last 15 against Lyon: Actually it’s a host of changes. Team now looks like this...Bettinelli, S.Sessegnon, Jenz, Cisse, Fossey, O’Riley, McDonald, de la Torre, Thorsteinsson, Kait, Kebano https://t.co/kG03v1cgzR— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) July 21, 2018
They were looking to buy him but not to replace Neymar, Seri would be in central midfield...Xavi has said something to the effect of him being a perfect fit for Barça
On the bench: #FFC Subs: Luca Ashby-Hammond, S.Sessegnon, McDonald, de la Torre, Schürrle, Fonte. pic.twitter.com/WqHTQXzVP0— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) July 28, 2018
De La Torre started the game for Fulham 👏 We are up and running! Late change for #FFC. de la Torre starts, Kamara no longer in the starting XI. #COYW— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) July 28, 2018
31' Seconds later de la Torre plays in Kebano again but his low effort is saved. First change for #FFC, Christie is off and Steven Sessegnon is on. 0-0— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) July 28, 2018
FWIW this 45 min match is vs Fiorentina Also found this 2' Schürrle straight at it! He picks the ball up inside the #FFC half and surges past two midfields into the opposition half. He feeds de la Torre on the right but his cross is cleared. #COYW
Fiorentina won on PKs. GOAL: Confident finish from de la Torre. The keeper goes the wrong way and he puts it in the right hand corner. 7-6 #FFC— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) July 28, 2018
I am so confused by his situation. He could barely get a look for the bench while they were in the Championship, but he's been getting a ton of time in the pre-season with the first team.... surely he doesn't get more minutes in the Premier League than he did last year in the Championship, right?? I mean I hope he does, but it just seems so odd.
He had 5 total appearances in the Championship last season, totaling for 50 minutes. I would absolutely love to see him break through this year but I'm just so confused as to what to expect...
If preseason minutes meant anything Julian green would have been backing up lewandowski the last two seasons...
Thanks for your post. I'm now inspired to track down Lazar Markovic's American ties. Anyone who only shows up in preseason for this many years in a row has got to be a Yank somehow.
youre right. i misspelled "they make teams money, but dont mean anything in terms of what the team is going to be"
Starts again for Fulham today vs Sampdoria. Here's our team to face @sampdoria ⤵️📋: Fabri, Fossey, Odoi, Le Marchand, S. Sessegnon, McDonald, Cissé, Cairney, de la Torre, Fonte and Schürrle #COYW pic.twitter.com/DKxaHExSEn— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) August 1, 2018
Who knows. It's not uncommon for young players to get an extensive run in pre-season and then not play very much during the regular season. All we can do is wait and see.
Fossey? :erks up:: It's a good sign. There's obviously a number of first teamers in that group but it's not their starting XI (Seri, Mitrovic, and Ream would all be in the first team, right?). But we'll know nothing for sure until the Premier League starts, and we won't know everything until the transfer window closes.
yeah, I guess there's one more friendly before the opener (Saturday v Celta de Vigo). Based on YNT play I've been skeptical that he'd break through, but he's got skill so fingers crossed (Fossey too).
