What a better way to start this brand new thread in the WWC year than with a special present for kickinthehead and all you other Germany friends and foes out there:
And what better post to have on the first page than a DFB-TV portrait of Nadine Angerer? (What is it with her and roofs? This is a picture from her Potsdam days: )
Thanks! I'm sure Jocasta will be foaming at the mouth when she sees this (sometimes she forgets to take her medication).
Who was it who asked the other day whether the players had to participate in marketing activities? Fitschen has organised marketing days for them - with 33 players and lots of sponsors invited for photo shootings, TV spots etc. Not everyone has to participate in everything - but she's obviously doing her best to encourage them.
Angerer's hat, Bajramaj's shoes, and her own socks? (This is from the German team's marketing days this week.)
She shouldn't have done her whites washing with her socks. Though there are others on here who are far superior in their knowledge of such things.
A player who bloodies her knee while doing a photo shoot can't be all bad. But she should point her toe for a better pic...
Monique Kerschowski has just told the audience of Babelsberg Hitradio that her sister Isabelle is currently being trained as a defender on the (U23?) national team. Hm.
No more offside calls for Inka Grings! The German team recently had its eyesight tested and then received recommendations on where things could be optimised, and Grings commented afterwards that if she were to become the WWC's top scorer, she'd know whom to thank.
She must be a strong woman: my browser crashed while I was trying to bring the link here. Ariane Hingst in a DFB-TV portrait
I note that no one dared to interview Anya Mittag about her test results. Is it a closely guarded state secret, about how she uses echolocation? Really, I think bats are more accurate. Aww, our own little Cheeky Chipmunk, wearing a space suit and having a few hundred horses under her. Thanks, Micol, I suspect you've just given at least one person we know a sleepless night or two...
After the summer, ex-international Anouschka Bernhard will take over the U16 and U17 national teams from Ralf Peter (who will be training coaches for DFB in future).
