Good luck with that. Appeals and lawsuits are part and parcel for any stadium or arena project. There is always someone who wants to stop something and will file a suit no matter how frivolous, causing further delays. We have had quite a bit of that with the NSC stadium. In the meantime, let the dozers roll! It is sad seeing the stadium where I spent so many summer nights in the 70's and 80's having fallen into disrepair.
The Siege Supporters Club @SiegeMiami The demolition of the Lockhart site will start this Wed morning (5/8) with a presentation from #InterMiamiCF at 9am. The team wants as many fans as possible there! Please between 8:15am - 8:45am.
Because of our passion for the game and for the growth of soccer in South Florida, we have decided to no longer pursue our lawsuit against Miami Beckham United (@InterMiamiCF) and @FTLCityNews and have withdrawn our 2nd ranked proposal for the redevelopment of #LockhartStadium pic.twitter.com/stGIjdM4iY— FXE Futbol (@FXE_Futbol) May 7, 2019 FXE moving out of the way. I love me some Rocky. I was there when he roamed the Lockhart pitch all those years ago. If there is not a stand named the Ray Hudson Stand at the new stadium it would be a crime. Oh, and I'm ready for a USL Championship or USL League One Ft. Lauderdale Strikers 4.0. If at first you don't succeed...
The demolition and construction of the new @InterMiamiCF stadium has now started. What an unbelievable feeling.

CONSTRUCTION UPDATE: SATURDAY, MAY18TH... both east and west end zone bleachers have been demolished, in a big ol' pile. Front ticket booths both have been knocked down...when I was there around noon, an excavator was digging away at the north area stands...full speed ahead!!! I don't think this will take more than a few days to finish knocking it all down.
Strange seeing those bleachers in a heap...I watched them go up in 1997 when Horowitz was gearin' up for the Fusion...
Inter Miami Lockhart demolition update: 3 of the 4 stands are totally knocked down. Only the stand in this picture remains. We’re only 2 weeks since this thing started. pic.twitter.com/O0OuL7uxIn— Chris Wittyngham (@ChrisWittyngham) May 22, 2019
In case you’ve missed it, the work at Lockhart continues at a rapid pace, check out the latest photos
If hurricanes can stay away, I guess they can proceed at a pretty good clip. It's not like they will have winter weather to deal with.
Looks great so far! I am surprised how fast this is all coming together in FTL compared to the snail pace of the stadium in Miami. This Youtube Channel has construction updates:
