Watching the 90 in 30 on bein right now. He looks really good. Very nice in link up and should've had an assist if not for an astonishing miss from Castro.
Was that Whittle? I thought it was Ray Hudson. Hudson is hilarious.... and No way should we sell Sanabria. Not for 20 mil... not for 30 mil. He is the best chance at an elite ST Roma have had in many years.
I always get them confused, but only a Romanista would loose their ability to speak when a goal is scored like that, and we all know where Whittle's heart is
Agree. I'll say this about Hudson, he absolutely adores Totti. Every time he mentions Totti he says he's the most under appreciated stars of his generation.
article on Federico Ricci http://www.italianfootballdaily.com/federico-ricci-what-should-roma-do-with-him/
I've been reading a lot of good things about Ricci but my only concern is where is he going to play. I can't see him taking time from; SES, Perotti or Salah.
You are right. He isn't "good enough" to take significant minutes from those three. I think he should probably go on loan to a Serie A club for one more season.
I don't doubt that tbh. He could go for 50 in this market. He is excellent in opening up space and counter attacking, but I don't see Roma considering him indispensable. Berardi could be interesting for 20-25, and there is definitely no shortage in decent wingers.
... but Salah isn't just a decent winger. Next to Pjanic he is probably our best player and the nearest to world class we have.
I think there might be players out there who can be purchased for less that can have a higher ceiling by next season.
I think we'll have to agree to disagree. IMO, at this point Roma shouldn't be looking for players with "higher ceilings". IMO, if they are going to sell Salah they would need to replace him with somebody who is at least as good or better now. So unless they can get a Sanchez or Di Maria I wouldn't sell Salah.
I agree to that to a point; if you get 50 for Salah, and with that you can afford to buy for example Berardi, and don't have to commit to selling a core player, then it's worth it. If they're gonna take 20 to reinvest, but then spend the rest on satisfying debt and buying a 16 year old, then I would be disappointed.
I highly doubt you would get Berardi for much, if any, less than Salah. Not to mention we have already invested 20+ mil in Salah so even if you sell him for 50 that's about 30 mil profit. Is Berardi going to be 20 mil less than Salah? I would doubt it. Besides I'm a big believer that you need to maintain continuity and selling a player for what would amount to a lateral move just isn't worth it.
So am I. It's all hypothetical. I''d rather just keep the status quo, keep the core, and hope the chemistry keeps building, which it will. That is what is behind most cup winning squads.
I want to agree with this so badly but I'm still on the fence. I think Salah is a great player and that yes, he is one of our top players but I'm unsure if he is ever going to be world class and indispensable. Don't get me wrong I don't WANT him sold this summer but like I said before I feel like he might be too enticing because people are infatuated with his world class speed... if he could finish and pass at a higher level then I think I'd be less inclined to think Roma would make him untouchable... But let's hope that we keep our core players like everyone is saying and he stays put for at least a few seasons.
