next year's CL ..... https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...s/teams-liverpool-can-play-champions-16381698 Pot One's teams have already been decided, with Liverpool alongside Europa League winners Chelsea, Barcelona, Manchester City, Juventus, Bayern Munich, Paris Saint-Germain and Zenit St Petersburg. Klopp's side cannot play any of those teams. Nor can they be drawn against Tottenham, who are guaranteed to be in Pot Two, as teams from the same country are kept apart at this stage of the competition. While Pots Two, Three and Four will only be confirmed once the qualifiers are finished, there are certain teams whose placing is secured. In Pot Two, Real Madrid, Atletico Madrid, Borussia Dortmund, Napoli and Shakhtar Donetsk will definitely join Tottenham, while Porto and Ajax will also be in Pot Two if they negotiate their qualifiers. Pot Three includes Benfica, Lyon, Bayer Leverkusen, FC Salzburg, Valencia and Inter Milan, with Dinamo Kiev and Celtic provisionally included on the basis they win through the qualifying round. And in Pot Four, Lokomotiv Moscow, Genk, Galatasaray, RB Leipzig, Atalanta and Lille are in, with FC Copenhagen and Dinamo Zagreb looking to join them. The inside story of Liverpool's stunning Champions League final win Should any of the six expected qualifiers fail to make it to the group stage, teams could move up a pot - for example, if Ajax or Porto miss out, Benfica will move up to Pot Two - but many of the teams are unlikely to shift places. It means Liverpool's Champions League final win means they could end up in a group with Porto, Salzburg and Genk. However, they could easily be drawn alongside Real Madrid, Lyon and RB Leipzig.
http://www.sportbible.com/football/...-for-the-201920-season-is-ridiculous-20190605 Liverpool will face a fixture pile-up during the upcoming 2019/20 season as the club face the prospect of playing an incredible 71 games.
Obviously way too early to worry about this but since we have time on our hands, I would take Porto, Celtic, and Genk. However, I'm not really worried about anyone, especially in the group stage.
What system are they using that lands Real Madrid in Pot 2? They won the thing 3 years in a row. Last season we were in Pot 3 despite being finalists.
The Comm Shield is a pre-season match and we'll send a second team to the Super Cup. The League Cup will really be a team of kids. So the 38 game PL, the 13 game CL, and max 5 rounds of the FAC where we'll play our first team - so 56 matches where our first 18 players will be expected to start. Where are the other 20-odd matches coming from?
this counts all games including preseason, and is about the club not just the starters. "playing the yoots" doesn't mean no starters take part at all, and the coaches and physios have to deal with every game. normal practice to count every game.

That will be a relief to many teams-- Napoli's president was right to fulminate against Liverpool being in Pot 3 last season.
