Spartak must come at us. A draw does them no good, and a loss doesn't risk them losing their Europa League spot. 3 points puts Spartak thru if Sevilla draw, they'll have a superior goal differential. For us, we are in the knockout stages with a draw, but if we draw and Sevilla win, they'll top the group and we will finish second. Win, we top the group!
This game makes me extremely nervous. I had assumed that we were relatively safe, given our vastly superior goal differential, but the first tie-breaker in the group stage is head-to-head results, so if Spartak wins, they top us.
I think Klopp will try to blitz them early like with Hoffenheim, and Sevilla (let's hope we don't collapse again - though the draw would end up being ok). -----------------Karius----------------- Gomez---Lovern----Klavan----Moreno ----Wij------------Can/Henderson----Coutinho Salah--------Bobby---------Mane Migs, Ox, Sturridge, Can/Henderson, Lallana, Milner, AA
Klopp will play to win - he knows nothing better. Forget about "trying not to lose" - leave that to JoMo's teams...
That really doesn't matter all that much. You've got a possibility of Paris SG or Barca if you finish 2nd. You've got a possibility of Real Wankdom or Bayern Munchen if you top it..... Just don't lose......
Incidentally, for those working who want to watch it later - the game is also on another channel .... FSP a few hours later ... 4.30pm pacific time ....
There's always room to worry with what's on the line but let's look at the facts... -At home. -In form. -Deadly counter attack. -Big European night -We're better than they are. Yeah, let's win.
Let's win going away...I expect them to score (or should I say, I expect our defense to give one up), but I expect LFC to score more!
Lallana is still injured.....not a huge surprise - this is turning into a 5 month injury instead of the up to 4 month variety.

So, they're 'pulling out' all the stops for the game? I apologize to Liverpool nation for that dreadful pun.
Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp will "not hesitate" to field his strongest side for the final Champions League Group E game with Spartak Moscow. The Reds play Everton in the Merseyside derby on Sunday (14:15 GMT) but need to avoid defeat against Spartak to reach the Champions League's knockout stage. "We want to go through and we have the chance to do it," said Klopp before Wednesday's European tie at Anfield. I don't have to think about the game on Sunday already." Group leaders Liverpool, who have nine points from five games, have not reached the last 16 of the Champions League since 2008-09. Spartak, who start the final round of games in third, will secure a place in the knockout stage if they win. Sevilla, second on eight points, are at bottom-placed NK Maribor (19:45 GMT). More defensive options for Klopp Klopp was without several defenders for last Saturday's 5-1 win at Brighton - a result that lifted the Reds up to fourth in the Premier League table. Joe Gomez (virus) and Joel Matip (injured) were unavailable, Alberto Moreno was rested and Ragnar Klavan (ill) only on the bench - meaning the German fielded an unfamiliar back line in terms of both formation and personnel. Liverpool lined up with three centre-backs - and one of those was Georginio Wijnaldum, whose reputation was forged as a No.10 in the Netherlands and who was brought to Anfield in July 2016 to score goals from midfield. Klopp also selected midfielder Emre Can as the right-sided centre-back and handed Scotland left-back Andy Robertson his first Premier League start since 16 September. However, Gomez and Klavan have both returned to training before Spartak's visit - although Matip is still out. Liverpool drew 1-1 in Moscow in September and although his side are in good form, Klopp is wary of a more dangerous Spartak side. "We are stronger than we were when we played them but they are stronger as well, in a good moment in the league. They have some very important offensive players back, so it will be an exciting game."
Yeah, she looks pretty tasty. I'm sure the physicals are pretty awkward for the players. I read somewhere that the whole "no sex before a big athletic event" for men is BS but don't want to look it up at work.
Big, big, big match. I would pay a LOT of money if I could magically teleport to the KOP or the new main stand for this one... Painful fact is this group should have been well-won already. Just win the group. Cmon lads. 2-0 to the good! YNWA
Karius (although why?), Gomez, Lovren, Klavan, Moreno, Henderson, Can, Coutinho, Mane, Firmino, Salah. Bench: Mignolet, Milner, GW, Grujic, Ox, Sturridge, Solanke. That’s my guess
Wouldn't mind the extra man at the back... maybe that's setting them up for failure. I'd STRONGLY consider something like... Mignolet Klavan Lovren Milner Gomez Moreno Gini Can Mane Salah Bobby buuuuut looks like the boss thinks differently. Which I'm fine with, dance with the date that brung you I guess. Please, lots of possession and no defensive ********-ups!
