Van Dijk's title message to fans after nervous clash with Leicester: “Everyone wants to win so bad and that’s what we want as well but sometimes you need to be very patient. We want everyone to cheer us on and keep pushing even if we have tough moments.” twitter.com/jamesp...
edit - not an excuse - but apparently there were more players ill than was let on in the media and briefings (probably purposefully kept quiet).
Excepting last year when City were a Comet en flame, and one year I recall when Chelsea were yards ahead easily, it is uncommon in the last decade or so for teams or fans to think that the league has reached a crisis point to be won or lost in Bloody January. It’s plain nuts. We are in a GREAT position. One that each and every one of us would have gladly agreed to back in mid-August…. ffs………
very happy I didn't pay to watch that game yesterday... Disappointed that we ended up with a draw, but hey... could have been worse. Don't have a lot to add that hasn't already been said, but Liverpool were playing too tentatively yesterday. Hope that was a one off problem, and that when the conditions are a bit more conducive to actually playing football that we see them more adventurous again. Wasn't quite as cold here in Ann Arbor as in other places in the US, but they still closed the campus (grr... screwed up my class schedule just before an exam!), and was so cold that basically every door hinge was squeaking and squawking. Did make it pretty easy to watch the game at work though, since only about 5-10% of people showed up...
The closer it gets, the harder home games will be. I just don't know how to get the home fans to be calm. I was a nervous wreck, so who am I to judge, lol.
ManU plays Leicester City tomorrow. Let us hope that United scores in the 3rd minute and the match ends up a 1-1 draw. Then Arsenal can draw with Citeh and maybe Liverpool can eke out a victory against Hammers.
