Too bad VvD showed he can be human on Donk’s goal at the end of the first half. Let’s ice these sonsabitches!
Wow Atkinson gives advantage when we have the ball at the half way line with 11 Leicester players in front but not half way into Leicesters half with 4 Leicester players in front
Not a good performance. Allison a bad day. Robertson and VvD both at fault for the goal - who said the right side would be our vulnerable side? Hendo - a bit shaky, but he's not a RB. Gini covered the many mistakes we made very well. Keita not at the races. Mo - not a threat, don't know how he lasted the full 90. Bobby - our most creative player today despite being crowded for space. Our most important defensive player, too, as Evans surely would have tapped home without his intervention and then he emphatically won the header on the next corner almost as if to say to the defense "see!?!?! get your sh*te together!!!" Mane - excellent finish, some nice other running, but a non-threat in the 2nd half. Shaqiri - a non-factor, kept coming in field and being crowded out. Fabinho - our MF is so much more stable with him there. Lallana - if he's the answer, I don't want to know the question. Studge - not much to judge on.
Naby was fouled, I LOLed at comm's "50/50," but given the number of sitters they missed and goalmouth scrambles I'm relieved we didn't drop all the points. This felt a match we'd have lost in other years. Not this year! 5 points clear!
What a Truly Shocking Performance considering we just had a 12 day Break in Dubai. We were Abject and lucky to have got even a point. Probably Mo's worst game in a Red Shirt, went down for a Penalty which Atkinson waved off furiously in the first half and it was almost like it hurt his feelings that incident cause he was so so so poor Since. If Fabinho wasnt injured,Klopp got his team selection all bloody wrong...Keita and Shaqiri with Gini holding was a Midfield which played right into their hands and eventually what did us in. The Penalty on Keita was Stonewall stuff and a Pity that doesn't get Spotted. We were all over the place defensively and almost too cocky with City dropping points last night and not ready for a bloody battle and old failings came right back to haunt Us. Still 5 points clear and should motor on but MAD AS HELL RIGHT NOW. YNWA.
Gained ground. Still might bite them in the ass. I think City will drop points over the next 1.5 weeks... but if not this is another missed opportunity. Oh and anti-VAR guys... how do we feel about VAR now? Naby pen might be somewhat soft but this is why VAR is happening, to get these calls right.
I had a feeling this was gonna happen, even before yesterday. Leicester are no pushovers and have an ability to give the bigger sides a good game whilst not playing so good against the weaker teams. \Shake it off. We played quite well first half, (from the radio) but the cutting edge wasn't there ..... This thing is gonna come down to how well we play against Tottenham, Man Utd and Chelsea.... With city losing yesterday we can afford two draws and a win.... that and otherwise good form would get us over the line..... The next two games for City are Huge....
If that ball sneaks over the line against City and Naby's pen is called in this match, LFC probably have a 10 point cushion right now.
I watched it on the radio! anyway, that's a kind of nutty question, as I already pointed out to you in the VAR thread how we would be a couple of points less since the season start if VAR was here. (That's a fact.) The constant point I'm making about my not caring if all the calls are right being that the missed sh!t evens itself out. I didn't see the call yet for the pen today, but Jan Molby watched it from three angles on my commentary. He said it was 50-50 - one angle 50-50, one not a peno, and one most likely pen ..... I have no real problem with referees getting these types of calls wrong and right based on human error of two people at the same time. It adds to the excitement of the game. Var adds (will) to the boredom of the game. I watch for excitement, not mathematical and moral correctness. Be that as it may, on the game's most contentious issue ..... Another question for the non-rule reader : Could VAR be used to insist on a red card for Harry MaGuire, or would it be outside the remit on that call?
It didn't sneak over the line though..... If Pavel Nedved hadn't lost his temper against a Belgium team who kept kicking him in a 1st leg-playoff game with half his other stars out sick and injured he wouldn't have gotten sent off and maybe the Czechs in 2002 beat everyone and win the World Cup.... but he did lose it.... So, no point in if only's......
I actually disagree that Keita had quiet/not good game and think that Keita had a much better game today than the last couple. Was robbed of a penalty.
Yeah, what happened happened and that's all that really matters... I'm just commenting on the razor-thin margins with regard to competing against this stacked City side.
