I wouldn't. I';d keep mane and salah and add messi..... i'd much rather a free pick of midfield. Moussa dembele I would lovvvvve......
Would you say that same thing about the Brazilian who passed the ball across to be intercepted by Paolo Rossi in the WC QF in '82?? or Patrick Viera (for god's sakes - you simply can't say this about him) when he lazily set up Ryan Giggs for one of the prime candidates for the the Goal of the Century in England.... It JUST happens man ...... no big deal .....
funny you shoul dmention that - 2 (two) near half billion lotteries running in california this weekend (powerball and megamillions both exceeding 450M) jeez, I could probably start me own team and buy coutino. Neymar too, but I just can't stand the sight of him......
OK so nobody wants to play .... sigh ... looks like Bobby swore at Holgate and said something very unpleasant in Portuguese. while it's true that neither the ref or Holgate knew what he said, there is precedence for punishment even in that situation. I'm talking about a player who got a red card (in a WC game no less) for using inappropriate language against another player - even though neither the ref nor the recipient of the verbiage understood what was being said. let's hope none of that crap happens here ....
Nobody seems to have noticed or cares that the incident came from a nasty potential serious injury foul. Everyone wants to focus on the garbage and their take on it.
^ that's because it's worse to call somebody a bad name than it is to break their arm/leg/neck. what Holgate did is worse than biting someone. but he has everso slightly better teeth.
I agree, but I do wonder if we altered the race of each player would it matter any more or less? If a black player were to shove a white player in a similar manner and the white player, in turn, called the offending party a homophobic or racial slur, would it be viewed the same way?
WTF. Are you looking for a job with the S*n. I've heard worse than being called the equivalent of Son of a Bitch. In any language any race any colour.
Agree. We're so over-sensitized to this PC / racial abuse stuff its caused a complete overlooking of a very serious incident of violent conduct. That push was late, intentional, and could have ended Firmino's career. Not a peep about it. Ridiculous.
You know for all the BS that's raining down and the Nasty stunt Holgate pulled. I thought he was one of their better players. So cool in defense. Not very cool in a personnel attack.
I have never read that publication, so I wouldn't know. My point was the focus that they have placed on racist language specifically and how if it was one way, maybe there would be more outrage. I don't think Firmino was in the wrong for being furious and irate, but it seems like people these days aren't allowed to say things in the heat of the moment without something happening.
Thing is the only thing anyone has agreed he has said in the moment was “son of a bitch/whore you crazy you pushed me”. No one reacted but Holgate (and a few seconds late) - claiming “negro”.
Lip-reader explains what was said between Roberto Firmino and Mason Holgate http://www.givemesport.com/1230924-...roberto-firmino-and-mason-holgate?autoplay=on
no card for that push was ridiculous refereeing. deliberate intent to injure? damn effing right it was.
Thanks. I hope to you or others I wasn't defending Holgate's action or assuming Firmino had something worse. I was just thinking how it can be such a hot button topic.
Roberto Firmino's defence against racism allegations could be strengthened by the fact that referee Bobby Madley did not hear him use offensive language towards Everton's Mason Holgate at Anfield last Friday. The FA are investigating the accusation made by Holgate after the heated FA Cup clash and intend to interview both players as well as match officials this week. But Sportsmail understands that Madley stated in his report that he was unaware that Liverpool's Brazilian forward had used racist language, which could be significant as he was positioned between the two players at the time.
