It’s a huge problem with VAR that when our defenders do their job and draw a player offsides they still have to watch the ball hit the back of the net. It rattles the confidence of the defense and the entire team.
So defenders are expected to keep a perfect line to draw defenders offside. Then continue playing and scramble back to make desperate challenges to prevent goals that they are pretty sure won't count anyway. Has our defense been incredibly shaky this match, or is it just a case of the the assistant referee keeping the flag down just in case?
Not impressed with our performance today. 120 minutes on Wednesday with another match on Saturday is a bit ridiculous this early in the season.
