So last night, around midnight I can't sleep. I've got the airplane crud cough. Nuthin on telly so I see the recording of the Barca Match still on my list. Made a hot drink and sat down with it.

What a great match. How much pressure we put on them. Messi hardly had a moment to think on the ball. The 2 shots he had he scuffed wide. We were fantastic all over the pitch. Man for man we were better in all positions. Our weakest link was poor Shaq. He wasn't at his best but boy was everybody else.
Couple of hours later I was sleeping like a babe. Smile on my face.

Oh my, what a shame. Never mind the millions you make this season could possibly soften the shame. Nah!

'They were the worst moments of my life': Luis Suarez admits Barcelona thought they had ALREADY beaten Liverpool in Champions League semi-final before trip to Anfield and that defeat was low point

Luis Suarez has opened up on the torment his foremer club Liverpool inflicted upon himself and his Barcelona team-mates during the incredible Champions League semi-final turnaround.

This game is even more important since we won number 6. Or maybe it has more significance. Or something. Or maybe I can just take so much pleasure in this knowing that it led to the CL title.

Yeah it did that. Somehow I wish we could have played the final with the same intensity.
But I'll take it anyway. :)

Shaq had a good second half though (for half an hour... until he came off)

there was a funny op-ed line in the Irish independent which said of Suarez after the equalizing third goal ... "Luis Suarez' stare just gazed on ahead in a stupor of astonished numbness at what had just happened, staring off how far at what was lost and at who knows where ... probably all the way into his own front room in Monteveideo..." I thought that was hilarious....

I know it's been less than a month since Henderson lifted the cup, but as I think back on the final, it's happened a few times that I think of this game, thinking it was the final.

The Spurs game slips from memory with a few exceptions - Sissoko's handball, Mo's penalty, Allison's save from the Eriksen free and Origi's goal - and I have mixed up this Anfield leg as the final. A few times.

I still have those two games saved on my telly.

Nothing will beat that Istanbul final as a dramatic resurge into taking a 3 goal lead, from an Italian team no less.

But... For shear intensity over 95 minutes. For the pressure, the drama, the control, the domination over one of the top teams in the woild who came to Anfield supremely (over) confident that they could score one goal at any time.
    You can't beat this one.

Oh yeah, the final. We beat Spurs.......:)

Yeah, like Istanbul, I can watch the highlights of this one on repeat and never get sick of it.

Also, I could sum up the final in 3 parts: Salah's early goal, Allison's huge presence in goal, and Divock (BUILD THE F'N STATUE) Origi's late insurance goal.

In fairness that was about as far away from a Cateniccio team as any Italian side has ever been...... jeez ... what a team.... (Gattuso aside!)

    I like the "Gattuso aside"
I heard they brought him to the game in a cage after feeding him raw meat and jabbing him with pointy sticks.

He bleedin' looked like he was in a cage for portions of the match! Imagine playing against a midfield trio of him, Jens Jeremies and Roy Keane....

    Liverpool, you’re to blame.

With the Catalan media wheeling out all kind of reasoning for Barcelona’s poor start to the season (they’re eighth after five matches), Jurgen Klopp’s men are popping up more often than not.

Catalan newspaper La Vanguardia today goes with a headline reading: ‘Barça remains paralysed four months after Liverpool’

The club ‘remains in a state of shock’ since the 4-0 defeat, described as one of the ‘cruelest’ in Barca’s history. They’re ‘unable to move forward’ and there’s ‘no reliable signs of recovery’.
