He gets credit for starting the thread - add another w to your count, El cap! Hopefully this result will quiet the "FSG out" idiots for a little while. This game shows Liverpool have the talent, they just don't apply it consistently enough. It was fun to watch that first half as they were pretty dominant. Just City away left of the top 6 and after that win, we will have navigated them all flawlessly.
This game shows, once again, that Liverpool have the talent and the manager to consistently win games against open teams. We lack the depth in quality and the plan B to grind out consistent results against the "rest" of the league over the course of a season. We'll get there. We haven't proven that we're there yet.
He did that along with giving the ball away and helping to start an arsenal attack. Even that goal looked lucky.
My recollection of the Leicester match is that Firmino was ineffectual. Against Arsenal, he played much better, obviously, but he isn't showing the kinds of deft play that he is capable of. Don't know whether he's being more closely marked or whether he's not 100%, but I think Klopp needs a bit more from him.
No way. That goal was excellent all around. Milner threads the ball to Wijnaldum who quickly shifts it to Bobby who while the defense is sucked into that side looks up and send a perfect pass to Mane who had almost nothing to do but hammer the shot into the goal.
What I thought they did well today is find passing seams in the middle of the field allowing our players to turn and run at their defense
I should have looked again but thought he pushed it too far and was a bit off balance when he hit it. Also thought it was going to be blocked by one of the two players. I'll try to find a replay to see if I was hallucinating
first touch wasn't great - but the placement of the shot was perfect - everyone that tried to block the shot went low - and he fired high.
This game was a lock- whoever started it would've got the win! That being said- I will start the next one.
Klopp on Adam Lallana’s performance… http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/fir...pp-we-were-absolutely-spot-on-against-arsenal
Damn straight I do. Its like no one wants to be happy. I don't care if its masking our issues- enjoy the win against a good side and rub it in the face of every Arse fan you know.
When we win the title one day I will jump on my bike and cycle through the Eurotunnel all the way up to Merseyside -. happy enough?
What a bizarre season that you can say that dominant wins against Arsenal and Tottenham only "mask our issues."
Yep- We fans feel more confident of getting a win against playing a top 6 side than any in the bottom 6. Bizzaro world.
Thank you, Cap! From the other side of the world, I share your positive "no worries mate" sentiment. Don't ask me why but my friends and relatives tend to be Arse fans, making the double on them especially enjoyable. But it's not even other fans, that's generally fun and lively banter. I wince more when I read what our own "fans" say about the club they theoretically support - specifically how much they loathe FSG, the lack of investment (new Main Stand be damned), the damned transfer committee not buying any players in the January window, the greedy yank owners that don't care about the club, tickets being too expensive, did I mention the bastard yank owners lining their pockets with supporters' hard earned money? ...etc While there may be some validity as no ownership group is perfect (I know this all too well with my MLS club), it's tiring hearing incessant commentary from "fans" of our club when you just want to enjoy some football without the bullshit. As Shankly said, "if you can't support us when we lose or draw, don't support us when we win." Ok rant over. On to Burnley. YNWA
