As much as I absolutely LOVE the way our season has started, I'm gonna stick with being cautiously optimistic until we see how things stand when the 2 to 3 games-per-week schedule kicks in. Us, Shitty, Chelsea and Spurs will start feeling the strain before long. of those 4, we and Shitty have the best and deepest squads but come December a lot of things could start to look different.
I agree and that’s where Milner, Ox, Keita, Shaqiri, Origi and Lallana come in. They have to keep the level of quality when we rotate them in.
City's schedule in November and December is as hard a 2 months they've had in a few years. Starts with a trip to Anfield on 11/9 then following the international break: 11/23 Chelsea 11/26-27 CL game 11/30 @Newcastle 12/3 @burnley 12/7 Utd 12/10-11 CL Game 12/14 @arsenal 12/17-18 LC quarters 12/21 Leicester 12/26 @wolves Throw in CL and League cup games and there is plenty of potential for dropped points in there.
Dani Ceballos, latterly of Real, on his first Anfield experience with Arsenal (via The Guardian): “Liverpool”, Ceballos says, “was quite a lesson”. It takes him a moment to order his thoughts. “I’ve never seen anything like what I saw at Anfield; I haven’t seen a team that plays better, that presses like them, the way the fans carry them along. They take the air from you. You spend so much time defending and when you want to do something with the ball, when you want to breathe, they’re back on top of you. They’re very well-drilled.”
