So Elliot is sitting this one, is he? Pity as I thought he had a great game at MK Dons. Adrian probably gets back between the sticks. We have players regaining match fitness who need games. So a strong team, please and win so we have more games for these lads.
Yes, took care of one North London foe; time for the other. Arsenal are in bad shape right now and I expect a win regardless of lineup at home.
From Monday's training! Goalkeepers: Adrian, Lonergan, Ojrzynski Defenders: Gomez, Van den Berg, Boyes, Koumetio, Williams, Larouci Midfielders: Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Milner, Lallana, Chirivella, Kane, Clarkson Forwards: Origi, Brewster, Jones, Elliott, Longstaff https://www.thisisanfield.com/2019/...t-11-academy-youngsters-ahead-of-arsenal-tie/
Assuming that Klopp makes eleven changes, the team could be: Adrian Milner Gomez VDB Larouci Lallana Ox Keita Elliot Brewster Origi Most people think that Fabinho won’t be involved against Villa. He is one yellow card away from being suspended against City. So he might be involved here. Could play him at centerback, or at least have him on the bench. Curtis Jones should also be in contention to start because he has been in great form for the U23’s. I don’t think we can risk using Lovren now that we know Matip is out 6 weeks. I’m looking forward to this one. This is a real opportunity for some of these players. Anyone who does well will have a good chance to start again against Genk next week.
Yes, just realised that his suspension ended last week. It’s a weird one to have a World Cup tournament during the season, isn’t it?
That’s quite a squad we have and I reckon we could pick an 11 as good as what Klopp inherited from Rodgers if a tad younger.
Martinelli and Saka for Arsenal are going to be a handful. Both excellent young prospects that "should" make it.
I think that would be a good move. Need to keep the pathway to first team open for the sprogs. I also see there are reports of Özil’s return.
Difficult to precisely read the tea leaves, but I think Klopp has said that Elliott plays also. But it’s possible to read it that he’s in the squad, not necessarily guaranteed to start or play.
No Xhaka surprisingly enough https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/f...ure-replace-Arsenal-photo-amid-f-scandal.html
I certainly hope he doesn't play against Villa then. It really wouldn't make sense to take that risk. Hendo, Ox/Keita, Gini against Villa, I pray --- although my prayers are a bit skewy......
Liverpool: Kelleher; Williams, Gomez, Van den Berg, Milner; Lallana, Keita, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Elliott, Origi, Brewster Substitutes: Adrian, Koumetio, Larouci Chirivella, Clarkson, Kane, Jones
Very young team. The midfield and front 3 is full of quality. I’m not sure how well the back line will hold up.
Was wondering why the game hadn't started yet. Forgot that the UK has moved back to standard time, while the US is still on daylight saving time. D'oh! An interesting lineup, to be sure. It gives Keita and Ox a chance to build match fitness and Brewster and Origi the chance to show off their scoring boots (if they have them on). The back line does give me pause.
