Match report: Glatzel hat-trick seals Youth Cup progress https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/academy/335108-match-report-youth-cup-liverpool-accrington
Captain Paul Glatzel was the hat-trick hero as Liverpool cruised into the last 16 of the FA Youth Cup with an emphatic 4-0 win over Accrington Stanley. The prolific 17-year-old striker took his tally for the season to 20 goals as Barry Lewtas' side secured themselves a home tie with Wigan Athletic. The Liverpool-born Germany youth international, who has now bagged three trebles so far this term, took centre stage after Rhys Williams' header had opened the scoring at St Helens.
Liverpool U18s' game against Stoke City at the Academy on Saturday was postponed due to a frozen pitch. The U18 Premier League fixture was scheduled to kick-off at 2pm, but a pitch inspection carried out by the referee determined that the playing surface was not fit for the match to go ahead.
Exciting Liverpool Academy striker Paul Glatzel has signed his first professional contract with the club. The teenage frontman, who turns 18 next week, has been rewarded for the progress he's made over the course of this season. The Liverpool Under-18s captain scored his 22nd goal of the season in last week's FA Youth Cup win over Wigan Athletic which booked the Reds a quarter-final tie against Bury.

Ox started for the U23's today . Saw some highlights where he had some nice touches , looked okay. He was taken off after 41 mins as a precaution. Had felt left hamstring just before substitution

Liverpool U18s face Manchester City in the FA Youth Cup final at City's Academy Stadium on Thursday April 25th. https://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/tickets/346189-fa-youth-cup-final-tickets-city-liverpool
The young Reds win the FA Youth Cup. Manchester City thought they had won it, but very late in the game the Reds came back and won. Now that’s a storyline I can get behind.
Has anyone watched enough this season to pick between Glatzel and Duncan? Which one do you think is better? They both are lighting it up obviously.
concerning this Glatzel and Duncan discussion. Seems like Glatzel is the more creative/good movement and pressing type while Duncan is the poacher/predator type. It's why their partnership has been so good and such high scoring duo, because they complement each other. seems like the # ended up in all competition (those are the numbers I found) Duncan at 30 goals and 16 assists in 43 games Glatzel at 29 goals and 10 assists in 34 games
good move, this. The EFL Trophy will feature Manchester United’s and Liverpool’s U-21 sides next season. Manchester United and Liverpool will make their debuts in the EFL Trophy after entering the competition for the 2019/20 season. They will field Under-21 teams alongside 14 other Category One Academies, including 2017/18 semi-finalists Chelsea and last season's quarter-finalists Manchester City. Thirteen of the 14 Academy sides are from current Premier League clubs and will compete alongside the 48 sides from League One and League Two, providing valuable experience of first-team football against senior professionals for many of the country's best young players. https://www.premierleague.com/news/1245688

For anyone who has a Lfctv subscription the U 23's are playing Oldham Athletic in their first EFL Trophy match this afternoon at 2.00pm est . Game should be live on LFCTV GO. Hopefully the likes of Harvey Elliot , Larouci , Duncan , Van den Berg , Lewis , Hoever ,Jones will be in action today. .
lost that game 3-2 after being ahead. on a brighter note .... U18s win opening game 7-1. https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/spo...ews/liverpool-u18s-set-pulses-racing-16733523
They didn't deserve to lose after dominating for the majority of the game. In the end they got out done by Oldhams greater physicality . Out muscled on a couple set plays and a forced turnover. There were some very good performances from the likes of Elliot , Jones , Lewis and Neco Williams. I'm sure they'll quickly adjust to playing men rather than other youth . I think they have Fleetwood then Accrington Stanley , deffo capable of winning both I'd say.
