    more like since the days Oblitas was a player, back in Spain 1982.

    Seriously, I think that Peru has some of the most exciting and complete forwards and midfielders in South America, but the defense and the goalkeeping are also some of the worst. You should get a foreign goalie, and start working on young defenders for the future. I do not know if it is because nobody likes to play defense or that having so many legends in the midfield every kid wants to emulate Cubillas, Sotil o Cueto, but they do not have a model to follow when it comes to defenders.

    Blah blah blah, the whole team is a mess right now. Sure our forwards are exciting as the famous current Brazilian forwards, but when it comes to playing your heart out for your country. NILCH, nothing. Peru needs to invest in the youth system period, to produce any real results in the near future.
