Yup agree to me Rubio was never an option to us. Now Roldan is a tricky one. Our last coach spoke to him but he declined since he's still waiting for the US to call him which is understandable. I feel like once he hits 24-28 and depending how his career turns out (I don't think he'll ever be a solid starter because the type of player he is tends to get ignored by the US) he might decide to get a chance from Guate or el Salvador to play internationally or use them as a vitrina ala Boateng with Ghana.
El Salvador had a similar situation with Arturo Alvarez he played in every level for the USA national team except the Senior Level then he decided to switch and play for El Salvador after they wouldn't call him up. Roldan position is really clogged up they have many guys who play the same position but are already playing in Europe so that's why he is a possibility for you guys, the situation could pan out like Moises Hernandez.
Do any of you guys know if Mario Rodriguez half Guatemalan or Mexican, he plays for Borusia Mondengladbach- Ger
Chulo, someone told me that they live 5 minutes from Mario's house and said he knows his parents and that father is Mexican and mother Guatemalana but he was born here
Well u probably got it right then. Cause my knowledge only comes from a friendly we played back against Noho in my high school soccer playing days. He was the mexican american 9th grader varsity player called to the US u17. Or so said my coach. Unless I'm confusing him with someone else.

Por eso, no creo que vaya jugar con Guatemala. Y no tiene lugar en esta lista. Lo único curioso esq utiliza el apellido materno en vez del paterno Méndez.
I didn't know that. Did his father abandon him or something? Cause that's why the Belgian player Yannick Ferreira Carrasco wants to only be addressed as "Yannick Carrasco".
Nevermind my last post this is a quote from an Article “My Dad is a die-hard Mexican fan,” Rubin said, laughing. “He always gave me the nudge that, ‘You can have the option to one day play for Mexico.' But I always told my Dad that would never happen because I was born in America and it’s in my heart 100% that I want to play for my country—which is the United States." The Only way that he plays for Guate is if he is never called up to USA NT again and decides to switch, There is zero chance that he plays for Mexico though.
I wrote him off a long time ago. He's a Nad through and through. Good for him I say. I think he's already cap tied too. Also in Latin cultures (most if not all cultures actually), the father is usually the one instilling the love for soccer, so if he was good enough he'd pick mexico if the US didn't want him. That's the reason Moises Hernandez ended playing for us, at least at first; cause of his dad. That's why I think that if Cristian Roldan ever realizes he's not good enough for the US and wants to try international soccer or just needs a "vitrina" he'd pick Guate over El Slv.
In Brazil, the child inherits the mother's surname first, everything is maternal first unlike the rest of Latin America. I know it's odd but it's a fact. So I assume Ferreira is his maternal surname?? And in Spain the parents can switch around the order of the surnames.
I didn't know they did that in Brazil. That's really interesting. And no, the dude is Belgian but with a spanish mother and a portuguese dad. The reason he wants to only be known by his mother's surname is cause his dad split on them. So she had to raise him by herself.
