We have recently received complaints about link dumping. While I have to admit we've been a bit lax in enforcing this policy, it is not acceptable to post links to articles without including any commentary. Starting today these posts will be deleted and the those who post them will receive warnings with persistent violators being banned from the forum. Please report any violations. Thanks.

Slight tweak - due to their nature Tweets are no longer covered by this policy.

Any post that references media that is of length greater than 140 characters (video, links, podcasts etc.) should either include a snippet of the article, or a brief summary of the content.

And now, another tweak: Tweets are again covered by this policy, except in threads specifically dedicated to Tweets/Twitter.

    * Tweets often get deleted, sometimes quickly, and this makes following a thread with such posts frustrating.

    * Provide some context and/or paste the message of the Tweet into the thead, with attribution.

    * Tweets from people who are not widely/clearly known to a majority of people need to be identified (or you can just add that you have no idea who it is if you actually don't).

The sheer number of Tweets populating threads in the forum necessitate this change. Thanks in advance.

I need to emphasize this again before handing out infractions and/or bans: the request isn't that you add a little ditty (a couple of words, a joke, or whatever) but instead actually provide context. What's in the Tweet? Or the link? Or the video?

The exception remains the dedicated Trump Twitter thread.
