I couldnt find a thread regarding the new league for next deason. According to some news sources one of the new things for next season will be the return of el torneo de Copa, but it will also include primera A teams. They also want to implement a new points system as to give 0 points to a 0-0 tie, 1 point for a 1-1 tie and 2 points for a 2-2 or more tie. These ate the few things I have heard regarding this new league. Anyone else heard anything more?

When you say torneo de Copa, you talkin' 'bout an FA style or Copa del Rey style tourney returning?

So many questions concerning this new league, and they're keeping everything underwraps, why, what the ********?

Do like the new tie system, although I doubt that by itself will increase team ticket sales.

they still haven't thought of a plan about shit refs like chiquimarcos. like banning him form clasicos or important games.

also, I hope we hear more from this new liga soon.

Yes, like the FA Cup, but I don't like how we will have two tournaments a year with the apertura I believe will be with less clubs and therefore less price money. That alone devaluates that tournament. I do however love the idea of involving primera A teams because I think having a strong second division also helps to have a strong first.

As for the points system, I think it might work. While more goals.don't equal better quality at least it will make teams go for more goals. I would love if two teams will go down instead of one, but I know it won't happen. The primera A es un desmadre when it comes to owners and money.

Why mess with the win, tie, loss system?

They dont like teams bunkering for the 0-0....what about if they need 1-2 point to knock someone out of liguilla or save themselves? they can bunker for the 1-1 or 2-2 instead. Thats pretty exploitable if you think about it.

hella stupid.....They just want goals in the back of the net to give fans the illusion that there's more action now and bring them back to the stadiums....but its still the same shit.

later on these guys are gonna want hockey style shootouts.

and they're not going to mess with.... A person owning more than one team in primera division. Reducing foreign players to at least 3 per team.Retun to long tournament so teams in Concacaf Champions League and Libertadores don't have to play with alternate teams in either competitions.

Un torneo largo is probably the easiest way to make the tournament better. Having a cup tournament is perfect with a year long season.

I like the idea of no points for a 0-0 tie. I dont like the idea of giving 2 points, no matter the scenario. They should just leave it at 3 points for a win, 1 point for a tie with goals. 0 points for a 0-0, although like some have said its unfair to teams when they actually have a great game but neither can score do to a good game by the defense or goalies.

Yup it can be like a mini liguilla and keep the wack teams motivated for some silverware and also keep coaches from getting fired lol.

Also, make the top two spots more valuable by giving them direct births to the semis. Next four play in the quarterfinals.

Apparently another new rule for the new league will be every stadium has to have seats. No more cement bench like seating. They should force every team to upgrade their stadiums. Some stadiums are falling down.

I don't like the proposed points system. Supposedly the FMF wants to discourage boring games. I've seen many exciting games that end tied at 0. F*ck this shit. What are we, the MLS? We gonna make the goals bigger too? Shoot outs?

    i agree

the new point system is retarded as fuck! if this is true, then i don't see this system lasting for more than a year. this is gonna blow up in their faces.

only thing i like about the new changes is that there will be a Copa game against first & second division teams.

BTW 2 Liguillas make Televisa and TVAzteca 2 times the money. Just saying.

Slim's tv stations could have a chance, but they're just on the net thought... maybe also on Dish México but I'm not sure.

But while Televisa and TV Azteca have the control...

    4 sure.

But look at it from both sides.

More TV networks, more competition so better for the teams because they can collect more TV money.

But the bigger competition will be for the top teams, so the balance in the Mexican league could suffer if only a handful of teams see their TV revenue skyrocket.

    Is a catch 22 IMO.

Unless the league sells TV Rights as a whole league package, which I think is one of the main goals of this new league.

That IMO would be the best, but would Televisa or TVAzteca allow the rights for their teams be sold to say ESPN if they have the higher bid?

    Hopefully they do.
