Ayestaran is a simpleton. He has zero confidence in his RB so he flips Murillo and Tapias to have Murillo as the right CB to cover his ass because Murillo is fast. Now they both look awful. Dedos being allowed another season despite consistently showing to be one of the worst players on the squad is inexcusable.
We needed a rb and a cb so what did Garces do? He brought in 2 attacking midfielders to compete with the best player in the team. Then instead of playing their best player in his preferred position they push him back even more.
Garcés is padding up his “negotiating” resume with big names for when he’s inevitably kicked to the curb. Don’t forget bringing in a mediocre LB to compete with perhaps the most consistently good player we’ve had in years, while leaving the RB position to the most consistently bad player we’ve had in years and hoping for the best. And playing a midfield with a repressed attacking player, a young player who did what he could but was outworked, and leaving the sole method of recovering the ball to the slowest player in the league. We practically had no midfield today.
