He looked solid from what I saw of the match. Many of Aston Villa's attacks were coming on the other side of the defense, and I don't think he was at fault for any of the goals. Also was pretty confident with the ball and in coming forward. His experience really showed in a decent start for him, but Hull have some work to do if they want to avoid the troubles of last season.
Yep, and it seems like he has a very good chance to lock that spot down. Only thing is that he may be defending a bit more than he would like if Hull doesn't play better than they did in the second half yesterday. Villa is a contender for promotion though, so we'll probably get a better idea of how they stack up in the Championship when they play Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
