JJ team selection was poor. He needs to adjust because he isn’t going to get breaks from round to round like he did in Liga Sagres.
Diego's revenge story lol be the target for every attack for 2 entire years >get called all kinds of names by fans >get thrown pop corn at >people in the street spit as you walk by >almost manages to leave, but gets offered a bigger contract to stay instead of going to MLS >That's when it hits you, the master plan, all you have endured, all you have suffered, no, you will NOT take it, revenge shall be yours >Team is making BIG investments, this is their year they say >Win the Carioca, everyone's hyped, all the while you prepare >Big night comes in Copa, team's hyped >Sabotage the star player Arrascaeta, leaves at min 15 of the game >team still manages to play well, you are one of the best in the field, takes it to Penals >You volunteer to take the first one, like a true leader, to raise morale >misses on purpose, team morale down, 2 more misses, flamengo is out >lib comes >team playing like shit, some retard plays murderball, it's now 11x10 for flamengo, time to adjust your plans >wait till your team has subbed everyone >fake injury, 10x10 >flamengo gets eliminated by emelec >all that is left is to choke on random brasileirao matches and mess things up in the club day to day >leave on the end of the year to the MLS, winning millions still, avenged and single handedly destroying the dreams of millions of people
About as bad as it gets in terms of team selection. If I'm emelec second leg is long ball after long ball to angulo.
Typical Palmeiras performance under pressure (and not even because 0 x 0 is a good result) ... nervousness all around ... ball burning on player's feet like it's a hot potato.
Borja makes it 2 x 0. Route 1 from Weverton and a fuk up from their GK. This has been ugly to say the least. I guess we are through but unimpressed. Dudu has been ineffective for a good while now.
How do you rate Palmeiras against a possible quarterfinal vs. Grêmio? Grêmio did quite well in Paraguay and they are at a good moment, with mostly wins since before the stoppage for Copa América. I hope it happens given it will pit Scolari vs. the one other team besides yours where he has so much history and as it promises very competitive soccer.
I haven’t followed Grêmio ... but they haven’t started the season that well apparently . With Palmeiras it’s all about if we score or concede first . If we lose to Grêmio I can see the gaucho jokes coming as we will be knocked out by them and Inter in the same season .
Has to be said Fox Sports announcer saying"toca a musica" after a goal is quite annoying ... the NFL music is already annoying.
Isso é penalty Arnaldo ? Isso aqui não é pênalti NUNCA https://t.co/wIy2jf17Sx— Milton Neves (@Miltonneves) August 1, 2019
And there you go. We now have a Copa do Brasil semifinal bracket as one half of the Libertadores quarterfinals. Much has been said and will be said about a Gre-Nal semifinal, but Palmeiras and Flamengo will want to have a say in that. Nowadays, age and family demands keep me from watching Libertadores matches the way I did for so many years... I get home, have dinner, and oftentimes pass out. But I'm going to have to make an exception for Grêmio-Palmeiras and Flamengo-Internacional. These are going to be very attractive matchups - Scolari vs. his old team and Renato Portaluppi, the established team of Odair Hellmann vs. the developing but loaded squad of Jorge Jesus. I love this game and damn it do I love the Libertadores.
It's very likely that we will have the Argentine Superclasico in one semifinal and we are assured of an all Brazilian clash in the other semifinal. And in the final, it will be an Argentina vs Brazil. I am not sure if CONMEBOL could have asked for much more than that.
It’s too early to say that the semifinal will be ARG vs. ARG. But if it is, I see Boca Juniors as the favorite this year; last year, River Plate was clearly superior. And this year, the former, not latter, will have home field advantage. As for the all-Brazil bracket, right now I must say Internacional and Grêmio look like the better teams. Internacional all but toyed with Nacional, while Grêmio’s efficiency and clinical finishing against Libertad shows how cascudo the team is. The first leg of the quarterfinals will grant us a better idea of who the semifinalists are likely to be. No, it'll be in Santiago. Last year was an embarrassment and an aberration. That a tournament named "Libertadores da América" had its final in the capital city of the former imperial power which colonized most of Latin America was an irony not even the most reactionary of right-wingers could have dreamt of. (Oh, and there are whispers of the 2020 Libertadores final match happening in....... Rio de Janeiro.)
