It's the off-season. This looks like a good thing to freak out about. And finally, Jason Levien on whether DC United will consider a logo/brand refresh heading into new stadium: pic.twitter.com/xNwUl4duRP— Brian Straus (@BrianStraus) December 16, 2014 The only refresh I'd support is the removal of the soccer ball. Just leave the star in the center. Unless they wanted to adopt my avatar ... I'd be good with that too.
It would be pretty lame if their plan was to rebrand along the lines of NYCFC-ManCity but using InterMilan as the template.
They should do a refresh which involves putting three big horizontal stripes on the front of the jersey. And maybe some cat in the hat sleeves and socks.
The full name has punctuation after the D and C. The brand refresh very well could include removing that punctuation.
Back in Black!!! I had also heard Inter Milan was planning a brand refresh of their own in the years ahead to likely become "Milan United." Who's the big club, now?
Brand refreshes are important when there's something to forget about the past, e.g., Metrostars, Whiz, Burn, etc.
Idea: ditch the lame gold-star-and-ball in favor of a Washington DC shield (white background, 3 red stars, 2 red bars) on Talon's chest, a la the U.S. National Eagle with stars/stripes shield. What better way to hammer-home the idea that this is a "DC" club? Memo to Jason: don't even dream of messing with the all-black kit. Classic and very unique.
We've had this discussion multiple times before. What I'd like to see is United adopt the two red (horizontal) stripes from the DC flag on both the home black and away white jerseys. It would be a unique look and would not have to be dropped if we loose adidas as a kit sponsor. asitis
I believe the classified annex to the stadium agreement stipulates that the jersey shall henceforth include portraits of Bowser and Mendelson, alternating each game.
Change the eagle to a Buzzard (avie), to ------>>!!***SYNGERIZE***!!<------ the stadium deal! (Fits our mentality anyway. We like to feast the carrion of our departed enemies.)
hahahahaha, being so far away, and now with a visit bordering on mystical, I almost miss the "amenities" at RFK...
