This gets at my offense comment from yesterday. It's obvious that we have some decent options on offense, and with the implementation of some type of system or organization we could do really well. It shows more on defense because our personnel are generally crap. It's obvious the team hasn't been tactically managed since at least Alex Dmitri Song Billong, instead relying on individual brilliance and creativity (which are certainly a necessary part of the equation).
Interesting - these are over 32m apparently Auba is genuinely quick - not surprising to see DMs at the bottom of the list Actually pretty interesting pic.twitter.com/VlUHRhQIyb— JB™️ (@gunnerpunner) August 23, 2018
Saw this earlier. Pretty interesting. If the percent is based on an earlier training session then Sokratis can hit a 9.98. I’d like to see some acceleration numbers or actual times for the sprint.
1. it shouldn't come as a surprise that the big powerful guys are amongst the fastest straightline sprinters - see track sprinters 2. This shows how fan wisdom about players is often completely wrong. I like to recount that from WC2014 Mesut Ozil had both the top peak sprint speed for germany and also the highest sprint volume by some distance 3. Peak sprints and volume is way way more important data than meterage which is essentially meaningless
I dunno about Bellerin being 2nd quickest or quickest to accelerate. In recent times, including the Chelsea match, he seems to be a step or two behind the guy who's beating him to make a cross. My eyes tell me that he's regressed in speed or acceleration or both. I've heard other pundits say similarly. Is this a case of the data contradicting the eye test? And if so, what's the truth??
What does a female tennis player have in common with a fullback in the most physical football league in the world?
She's vegetarian/vegan. As are a number of other professional and ex professional athletes including Tony Gonzalez, Joe Namath, Serena Williams, and Carl Lewis. There are also rumors that Hank Aaron is vegetarian, though he has neither confirmed or denied it. Venus was forced into a vegetarian/vegan diet to help combat an auto immune disease. Serena apparently supported her in that decision and also converted. Carl Lewis attributed his best 100m times to not eating meat. Finally, Tony Gonzalez and Namath were an all pros in a league that is a little more physical than the EPL.
Steak or salad is not the reason Bellerin seems slower. Some of you should review basic metabolism. I personally believe he just doesn't train as much anymore, goes and stays out later as his fame has risen, that sort of stuff. I'm not saying he's Dennis Rodman or Darryl Strawberry on benders though.
The veganism theory is out there, but it seems a bit died-in-the-wool simplistic. I'd wonder if he ever regained the pace he had prior to his stubborn ankle injury from 2016-17.
I knew I'd get this response. I didn't say his diet was responsible for his best 100m times, he did. However there are real competitive advantages to a vegetarian/vegan diet, primarily among them is that it is an anti inflammatory diet. Jermaine Defoe has said as much and after converting to a vegan diet to combat my own auto immune disease I can also attest to that fact. As such, it almost certainly helped Namath and Gonzalez recover from the bangs and bruises of the NFL and may have allowed Bellerin lead the team in total Premier League and Europa League minutes last season.
We should have been all over Vrsaljko this summer. Diego Laxalt as well for the left side. 25m for the former and 18-20m for the latter.
Because he's a fake long hair lol, he didn't grow it until he was 18+. Long hairs like myself started in elementary school and keep it forever....or until you bald, lol.
