    France B schedule update :

    Turkish women's Cup

    01/03 France v Northern Ireland
    03/03 France v Jordan

The fringe players fighting for a back-up spot at the WC are likely to be selected for the B side, so that they get some game time rather than sit on the bench with the A team.

The Deacon still got Tounkara who just might be the better defensive CB. It's just will probably prevent her from using the 3 back, which can often lead to mixed results.

Poor overall performance in the 1-0 home defeat to Germany. Especially in the first half. One shot not on target from our only chance. Germany also had one chance but they put it in the back of the net.

A poor ball in our defensive third from Karchaoui to Bussaglia was intercepted and boom. Goal Schűller. Very well taken.

Second half saw some improvements, but no goal, so not good enough overall.

Technically not precise enough, not quick enough and physically not strong enough.
A lot to work on. A good defeat in a way because the team was unbeaten for so long complacency was probably starting to creep in.

In the context of the game, you have to wonder if Lavogez or Hamraoui would have helped in those situations.

Diacre has said she has a 35 players list. Hamraoui is in the list but as a back-up. Lavogez clearly not and probably for non football reason i.e. ego.

Individually not many good performances, if none. Expecting some changes for the Uruguay game. The 4-3-3 system did nit work with the three quick forwards ( Cascarino, Katoto, Diani). Tried to play a bit more direct and it was not working.
Mainly because our midfield was not controlling the game and the three forwards were not good at ball retention.

Gauvin coming on at center-forward alongside Asseyi ( who has her own limitations) helped in the second half.
Having less technically gifted on the pitch, but more combative can help the team in those scenario.

    here's the German version

keep in mind France didn't play their strong, left side combo of Le Sommer & Majri. But Germany likewise were missing key players. I still got to watch it myself, but seems like a good win for Germany, whats nice is all there players are in their more prime 20's, which obviously the US & even France can't claim

We had the "Fier d'Etre Bleus" campaign for the men team, now we have the "Fier d'Etre Bleues" for the women team.

Katoto in the B team, there are many graduates from the 2016 U-20 WWC in that team. Chavas who was tipped to make the Senior squad after her four seasons at U-20 level has clearly missed out...

Squad named tomorrow. No big surprise expected.

Question mark to see if Hamraoui, Clemaron or Dali will get the last midfield spot and if Laurent or Katoto will get the last forward spot and in defense if Debever will keep the 8th spot now that Lorgere is unavailable due to an ACL. Or With Bilbault who can double up in defense, we could go on 7-7-6 rather than 8-6-6 squad shape and add an extra midfielder.

    So it should be :

    GK 3

Sarah Bouhaddi (O. Lyonnais), Solène Durand (EA Guingamp), Pauline Peyraud-Magnin (Arsenal WFC, Angleterre)

    DF 8

Julie Debever (EA Guingamp), Sakina Karchaoui (Montpellier HSC), Amel Majri (O. Lyonnais), Griedge Mbock Bathy Nka (O. Lyonnais), Eve Périsset (Paris Saint-Germain), Wendie Renard (O. Lyonnais), Marion Torrent (Montpellier HSC), Aïssatou Tounkara (Atlético Madrid, Espagne)

    MF 6
Charlotte Bilbault (Paris FC), Elise Bussaglia (Dijon FCOF), Grace Geyoro (PSG), Kheira Hamraoui (FC Barcelone, Espagne) or Maeva Clemaron ( FCF 91) or Kenza Dali ( FC Dijon), Amandine Henry (O. Lyonnais), Gaëtane Thiney (Paris FC)

    FW 6

Viviane Asseyi (FC Girondins de Bordeaux), Delphine Cascarino (O. Lyonnais), Kadidiatou Diani (PSG), Valérie Gauvin (Montpellier HSC), Emelyne Laurent (EA Guingamp) or Marie-Antoinette Katoto ( PSG), Eugénie Le Sommer (O. Lyonnais),

So France really is going to count on Bussaglia and Thiney (in addition to Henry)?

Yes. Thiney is there because no one claimed the number 10 role and she was called back. And Bussaglia also brings experience to a young squad.

Well, considering how unreliable she was during U-20 WWC 2018, maybe it was the right choice. As wasteful as she was in that same tournament, Laurent was much more effective in the end.
