We have Lee Keunho as a backup on one of the wing positions. He's 99% going to the WC. The other one will go to Koo unless STY sees him as a CM. Yeom also has good chances. I think LCY's and JDW's chances are quite slim unless the other wingers/attackers injure themselves or have a massive form drop. Tbh LCY's chances are gone with his cancelled move.

so it's Palace that didn't let Bolton negotiate with Chungy right? I initially thought that Palace gave him the greenlight to leave, but he decided to stay..
It was all negotiated. Palace had said he could go, he had agreed and Bolton was ready to sign him. But Palace backed out when they were supposed to sign the deal.
Hodgson doesn't use a sub. He must have tremendous faith in the starting 11, zero faith in the bench, or he's a not a good manager.
It seems LCY's link to former manager and current Crystal Palace DoF, Freedman, backfires as DF likes him too much to let him go when hes needed but Hodgson doesn't share the same opinion.

Seems like Shin Tae-yong is looking to use the Lee Chung-yong card. Apparently, he talked to Hodgson over the phone, told Lee Chung-yong not to give up on WC hope. Hodgson told Shin Tae-yong that Lee Chung-yong is ready to play any time so Shin should select him to the national team, then Shin Tae-yong replied back saying that it would be great if Hodsgon gave Lee Chung-yong more playing time. Shin also adds that if Lee Chung-yong somehow makes the final entry, then he will give him 45 minutes of playing time during the friendly matches and all he has to do is get his feels back, however he has to be prepared to sacrifice for the team.
No chance for him to start ahead of our other wingers. I understand he has been important for us in the past, but we need to forward.
He may still be the best technician we have, but injuries have robbed him of the pace required to play wide. Would still be great as a 10.
Would he really be worse than Lee Yong as the RB? I honestly think not. I expect to see him play there if LY and CCS continue to struggle.
To play an unfit player at a position where condition is important is a bad idea imo. At least the other two can run. LCY can't. I'd take him as a sub winger, but not as a starting FB.
The notion is that Lee Chung-yong won't be a starter if he somehow miraculously makes the WC entry, hence Shin Tae-yong stating that he will have to be prepared to sacrifice for the team.
Honestly, I'd rather give that spot to Ji Dong-won instead, as harsh as it may sound towards Lee Chung-yong, he becoming match fit before the WC is highly unlikely.
