Leicester v. Liverpool - King Power Stadium - Sept. 19, 2017 - 2:45pm E Another typical Liverpool performance sees us drop points over the weekend. So now on to the Caribou Coffee Cup (I like that chain quite a bit). We play Leicester two times in 4 days. I'd like to win both. Heavy rotation coming however - expect Woodburn to get his first start of the season, Mane might get some time, Phil as well. Ejaria? Wilson? Ox starts? Don't have much else to say. Last few weeks of Liverpool watching has hurt my head - especially knowing we have already wasted 4 points this season (Watford, Burnley) and the 4th place is again going to be a dogfight.
Ejaria and Wilson both started for the U-23's so they probably won't be involved. Here's my guess: Ward TAA Gomez Lovren Moreno Henderson Wijnaldum Grujic Chambo Solanke Woodburn
Forgot Flanagan. Trent should rest then. But I do want to see Gomez at centerback. I went with Moreno over Robertson because Robertson started the weekend. Also, Danny Ings should make the bench.
Would love to see Ings come of the bench and do something productive. The guy's had such rotten luck the last couple of years.
Danny Ward: I'm so excited to wear the LFC shirt again http://www.liverpoolfc.com/news/fir...rd-i-m-so-excited-to-wear-the-lfc-shirt-again
Ward, Flanagan, Gomez, Klavan, Robertson, Henderson, Coutinho, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Grujic, Solanke Karius, Milner, Moreno, Ings, Markovic, Woodburn, Alexander-Arnold.
That's quite a mix of players for the game today and looking at the starters it's difficult to predict how they will perform as a unit out there. I'm looking forward to seeing how the likes of Ward,Grujic and Ox-C do . A bit surprised to see Markovic on the bench back from the wilderness and also Flanno starting , the last few times he's looked quite dodgey . Hoping that Ben sees some minutes today.
Not exactly a fluid performance so far, but Liverpool has had most of the ball. A few decent chances created. It's evident, though, that this group hasn't played together--they're not doing a good job of anticipating each other's runs and positioning.
Seriously? He's had about 7 chances in this match and 2 were what I would call good. Still waiting for him to really hit a target.
Stop me if you have heard this before...Liverpool are dominant in possession and creating chances but have failed to score.
