I'm currently following both you guys and Arsenal.com and the text updates, I don't know how to get ESPN 3.......yet!
Well done lads! We're off to Wembley on Feb.25th. Ok Citeh will be waiting for us, but at least we can say we'll play in a final.
They should at least have it on beIN Sports if not FS1 or FS2, but, COYF'n'G!!! I don't know if you guys knew this or not, but we have OWNED Chel$ki over the past two years, winning at home in the end of the 2016-17 season, beating them at Wembley TWICE (FA Cup Final and also Community Shield) drawing twice this season in EPL action, and also securing a draw and a win (0-0 and 2-1) in this two-leg League Cup semi-final tie. WE OWN CHEL$KI, NOT Roman Abramovich!!!
We get to play City twice in a week now! When everyone sucks off Liverpool and Spurs on a regular basis, while giving us constant crap, just remember who has made it to 4 finals in the last 5 years. Liverpool and Spurs haven't won anything in the better part of a decade.
That's harsh. Of course a manager can have some negative effect on a player, but not the basic judgment & ball handling skills. He's been awful at that.
The weird thing is that the Cup Final is in a little over 4 weeks and they still don't have a KO time determined?? I guess we can assume it'll either be 3pm GMT or maybe 4:30 like last year? Oh well, we're going to be big underdogs with very long odds, but that might just work in our favor a bit. Not a crime to dream a little.
It may be, true. However, I've seen way too many of our signings under him plateau or even in some cases, regress. The common denominator in them all is he has still been around so it's the only thing I can point to.
That's because ₵h€£$ki have become our b****!!! Even Roman Abramovich's money couldn't buy this trophy, class will always prevail, and we intend to prove it again on February 25th against yet another plastic club, Man₵h€$t€r ₵ity, they will also learn, just like ₵h€£$ki did, that money can never buy either class or a trophy!!! THOSE ARE EARNED!!! COYF'n'G!!!
On ESPNFC they said the final will be on Espn3. Seriously?? A cup final you can't make room on TV for?!! BTW, the KO time is now set... 11:30am ET.
I see a lot of this kind of thing written and I fundamentally disagree with it. I think that many players are bought when they have had one good season. That one season is usually not a very good indicator of their true level, a lot of players will find a consistent level a bit below their best. Some will have a great season, get a transfer to a big club like Arsenal and not be able to handle that pressure so their performances suffer. A select few thrive and become top performers, these are obviously the ones that you are looking for when you purchase a player, but it is still a bit of a crap shoot. I would say that those who transfer to a big club, whichever club that might be, and become significantly better than they were before is at most about 10%. Obviously there is an advantage of being able to just splash silly money about, but even then there are plenty of players who are bought for big money who, for whatever reason, don't push on at their new clubs. I would say that Wenger's record in bringing on players is comparable with any Premier League manager I can remember (and I go back a fair way!). I'm sure I don't need to name them all, but starting with Vieira and watching Wilshere playing some of his best football of his career in the past few weeks I don't think a failure develop players is something that can be laid at the manager's door. The manager can impart his knowledge and experience to the players he brings in or promotes from the youth setup and I think it's obvious that Wenger puts everything into his job, I mean look at the state of the man, for a while a couple of seasons ago he looked positively ill. But when all is said and done, it's up to the player to make the most of their talents. Once they cross the white line the manager can't play the game for them.
Right, rant over, a great game on Wednesday night after a very dodgy start. Great to be going back to Wembley. We beat Chelsea and then City in the semi and final of the FA Cup last season, we can do the reverse in the League Cup this year if we stick together and play our game. COYG!!!
