In 2013, DC United's legendarily poor team had the dubious distinction of scoring 4 own goals, whilst their leading scorer only tallied 3, which led to guffaws among fans that their leading scorer was Own Goal. Remarkably, in yet another dreadful 2017 season, Own Goal is again tied for the team lead with 4. Has there ever been another example of a team's top scorer having fewer goals than the team's total own goals? (I'm pretty certain that's never happened before in MLS but I'm ignorant of other leagues.)
https://www.premierleague.com/stats/top/players/own_goals lets you pick a season and see how many own goals each club scored. https://www.flashscore.com/standings/UqQ8LECO/WOO1nDO2/#top_scorers has a drop-down menu to see the scorers by clubs. The top line has a drop-down menu for the seasons going back to 1998-1999. I'm not going to do it myself, but that's a way for you to find out for the Premier League.
Reading little bit about it now. Did you know that During the 1960-61 Serie A season, Inter Milan defeated Catania 5-0, with Catania scoring on themselves four times.
