Figured I'd start the thread before they get to Paris;). Obviously, a controversial day today. Should be interesting to see what happens tomorrow. If I'm Sky, I think about letting a break go. We'll see how the race goes.

Sagan shouldn't have been DQ'ed. Relegated sure for cutting into Cav's line but a DQ is an over-reaction. Coincidence that it happens when an argument could be made to relegate the French champion?

Wasn't a huge fan of BMC's tactics today.

What, shadow Froome and take no time out of him? I mean, its failed every other time they've tried it so why not keep doing the same thing?

At least Aru did something and got more out of it than Porte and Quintana combined in the last couple of Tours.

    Fabio Aru is my hero.

And hoping against hope that Italian national road race champions who win on La Planche des Belle Filles always win the Tour. Perhaps it is enough that whoever wins that stage/climb wins the Tour - wasn't that the case with Plateau de Beille for a while?

I'm hoping for Nairo but sadly highly unlikely. If he manages to make podium though it would be awesome

Way to go Uran! Great first week for Cannondale! They have to be the happiest team going into the rest day (I'm sure Sky is happy as well, but they've only achieved expectations not exceeded them).

Rough crash for Porte and Martin (one of my favorite non-Cannondale riders). Though Martin's post-race comments and his "patron-ing" of Aru on the climb leave a bad taste in my mouth. The peloton needs to make a decision to dump the "unwritten rule" of not attacking the yellow unless everything is perfect for the leader. Its a stupid rule. The sport is getting to the finish on your bike fastest. If your bike is broken, that's the way it goes. If you can't stay on your bike, that's the way it goes. I'd be ok with the rules in unusual situations (dog runs into the road, banner falls down on top of the riders, etc.) but not during regular riding.

Amador is out, Movistar is really screwed, with Valverde and Amador out, Quintana plan of doing the double failing...

Well, Froome falters in the finale. Aru takes yellow, and a great stage win for Bardet.

Astana fail! Froome retakes yellow as Matthews takes the stage.

Aru needed way more than 6 seconds before the Marseille time trial. Still some time left.

Well, that was interesting. Chapeau to Mollema for the stage win. Looks like Quintana will be going for stage wins now.
