Figured I would start this thread as Lazio's competitive season begins tomorrow against Rabotnicki Skopje from Macedonia. We've got the home advantage but Italian teams have been known to start off slow in August. Hopefully we can get a win without conceding and that should see us through.

I hope Lazio takes the EL serious. Serie A needs an Italian team to take it serious because of the retarded co-efficient system.

    4-0 up late on

Cisse bags his first two, both goals were well taken, Hernanes opened the scoring and Mauri added the other off a nice play by Klose. Weak opponent but the team looks sharp, Brocchi was everywhere in that 1st half.

Check that 6-0, Rocchi and Klose round up the scoring where Rocchi assisted Klose. This result should boost the morale of the squad going into the season.

Skopje were weak but we saw other teams accross Europe struggle today namely Roma, Schalke, Panathanaikos, Sparta Prague. All these team lost and are in serious trouble of being knocked out already.

Lazio will play again tonight Rabotnicki to clean up secure the Europa spot.

I can imagine our second team will go out since we have a game on Sunday at the Olimpico but I still believe in strongly in the depth of our team.

    LaLazioSiamoNoi reports this probable formation

LAZIO (4-4-2): Bizzarri; Scaloni, Dias, Diakite, Zauri; Lulic, Cana, Matuzalem, Mauri, Rocchi, Kozak.

I dont like Mauri in there, he is valuable to us to tire him out so quickly. I believe in Reja so I won't get too irritated about putting him in tonight.

Forza Lazio and Forza Serie A except AS RIom

3-1 win. Bizzari screwed up the goal from 35 yards away or else Lazio would of had clean victories. Game was not taken too seriously in the first half, but when Hernanes came on and eventually Ledesma then Lazio put the game to rest.

Rocchi scores his 98th and 99th goal wearing the BiancoCelesti jersey. 100th to be soon hopefully.

Group Draw is tomorrow noon for the Europeans.

Also very happy to see AS Riom slip to Slovan Bratislava . SS Lazio Roma will make up for the incompetence of Riom.

I can assure Serie A that Lazio will not roll over like previous Italian teams has done. Lotito has built up a deep squad for all competitions and this Europa League has been a target as soon as we found out we lost out on champions league to Udinese by goal differential. It still burns to lose out like that but Lazio has taken this year, especially Europa seriously this year. Lazio management has figured that having players with International club experience would be valuable for Europa which the key reason why Klose Cisse and Lulic has been bought.

Forza Lazio Forza Serie A in International Competition. For regaining our Champions League qualification 4th spot back in Serie A!

Lazio's in Group D. Just a little warning as Sporting Lisbon fans always come around crying when they go out to Italian sides. I remember Udinese and Fiorentina episodes pretty clearly.

    Vilafria's cool, though.

GRUPPO D: Sporting Lisbona, Lazio, Zurigo, Vaslui

Can't really ask for anything better than that. I expect first place.

    September 15 Lazio vs. Vaslui

    September 29- Sporting vs. Lazio

    October 20- Lazio vs. Zurich

    November 3- Zurich vs Lazio

    December 1- Vaslui vs Lazio

    December 14- Lazio vs. Sporting

I want another 6-0 win to open the Europa League.

    Probable starters per LaLazioSiamoNoi...

LAZIO (4-2-3-1): Marchetti; Zauri, Diakitè, Dias, Lulic; Ledesma, Matuzalem; Gonzalez, Hernanes, Cisse; Rocchi. All. Reja

Some turnover but it looks strong enough to get the win. Reja and Lotito are saying you're in it to win it. Let's hope so.

Looks like Reja is going with a 3-4-3. No Hernanes but our front line is Cisse-Rocchi-Sculli. Gonzalez with a great chance that the keeper tipped over the bar. I've been impressed with Gonzalez, good season last year and he was a key part in Uruguay's Copa America triumph.

Step out for half an hour and Lazio are tied, went down 2-1 before Sculli levels the match. Zauri red carded and gives up a penalty he needs to be cut asap.

    2-2 FT

Very unfortunate result. I admit i missed the first 25 mins of the 2nd half where Vaslui definitely enjoyed their best speel but outside of that Lazio dominated. Finishing needs to be better simple as that, Rocchi, Gonzalez, and Kozak all missed sitters. Especiaally Kozak who headed a rebound off the bar from 4 yards out in 90th.
