No, not unless he has suddenly grown much older the past 3 month ;), then he's surely not over the hill. Tøfting was and still is a top class international player very much like an older version of Thomas Gravesen. He still works very hard all over the pitch, has much better technique than ppl expect and is therefore also excellent at passing the ball and creating huge opportunities for the forwards. He's also still quick on his feet over a short distance ...

Unfortunately he didnt get all that much impact on the AGF play the last few month at the club, due to the fact that he had to recover from an injury and then not got to play his favorite position in midfield, since he was used as a right winger... and then ofcause he was only axed due to the "Christmas incident", that unfortunately also made it impossible for him to find a new club in Denmark ...

According to the Swedish newspapar expressen.se, then Tøfting used to get €240,000 a year at AGF Aarhus (which is true), but has agreed to settle with a wage reduction giving him SEK 1.5 million a year (€167,000), though expressen.se claim that this deal still makes Tøfting the best payed player in Allsvenskan ....

He was a major factor in the succesful fall season by AGF, so he should be fairly match fit. He has a lot of experience on the higest level, both from the Danish NT and from clubs like Bolton and HSV. HE should be able to pull out at least one more season as a "star", maybe even two - the man seems to care little about his age.

The only real problem with Tøfting is his, uhm, special off-pitch behavior. He has friends in Hells Angels etc - but it might help him to be outside Denmark again, he doesn't seem to get into trouble that much abroad ;)

    French forward to Esbjerg

The Danish Superliga club Esbjerg have signed a 3½-year contract with the 25-yo French forward, Mickael Murcy, from the Belgium top-flight club La Louvière, where he scored 9 goals in 23 league games last season. The transfer fee has not been disclosed by either club.

    Herfølge sign Canadian striker...

The Danish Superliga club have signed a 1½-year contract with the 26-yo canadian striker, Charles Gbeke (Toronto Lynx). Sports director Per Rud says :

    - "Charles Gbeke and Alen Mencina came to Denmark in the middle of last week. Their Agent forgot the [trial] deal with Herfølge, and so the two Canadians went [on trial] to Randers, before they were reminded about the deal with Herfølge. They have impressed, and our two coaches agree that Charles has something special about him. We look forward to presenting him at Herfølge Stadion.

The 25-yo AM/F Alen Mencina (former FC Schweinfurt and PAOK Saloniki) is still on trial at Herfølge and it will be decided later, if he has a future at the club. Herfølge also have two Norwegians on trial from the Norwegian 1st division club Strømgodset at the moment, the 29-yo forward Rune Hagen and the 28-yo Strømgodset topscorer from last season Kim Larsen who were both voted 2nd and 3rd by the Strømgodset fanclub in their player of the year award 2004...

    Danish keeper to Werder Bremen

The 22-yo goalkeeper, Kasper Jensen, has moved to Werder Bremen on a ½-year loan deal from the Danish 1st division club SønderjyskE with an option to sign a permanent contract from 1st July 2005... The very talented keeper used to play for AaB Ålborg, but was not able to challenge 1st keeper Jimmy Nielsen, and therefore chose a move to SønderjyskE in december 2003....

Bunkeflo? Sounds like a Beck album. There wouldn't happen to be a lower league club called "Badlukke" somewhere in Scandinavia, would there?

Hmmm... seems that I forgot to write about this one from 27 January 2005 :

    Brazilian player to AaB Ålborg

The Danish Superliga club AaB have signed a ½-year contract with the 22-yo Brazilian midfielder, Fabiano de Freitas Santos, who is a former Esporte Clube Bahia player and according to AaB also has played 20 league games for the Brazilian club Botafogo Paraiba...

Well i do not know, but Bunkeflo is a part of Malmö. Its actually 2 words. "Bunke" and "Flo(d)" which means "bowl" and "river"

In Sweden you do not use double "k". the first "k" is replaced by a "c", for instans:
Lack, Tack and so one, but the pronunciation is with 2 "k".

    AGF sign Rosenborg player

The Danish Superliga club AGF have signed the 25-yo Norwegian AM/F Christer George from Rosenborg for a €120,000 transfer fee. Rosenborg payed €1.3 milion, some years back, for the former Norwegian international (2 caps). Christer George has played 67 league games for Rosenborg, mostly as a right winger and he has also scored some CL goals for the club...

Djurgården has closed the deal with Ibrahim Ba. A transfer fee somewhere around €270K is mentioned. Seems like Ba was offered better deals than the €65K a year (with bonuses maybe the double, still not a swedish top salary) Djurgården pays, but he, somewhat to his agents surprise, valued the oppurtunity to win titles and the more family-like atmosphere in the swedish club. Clubs competing for Ba supposed to have been from Portugal and Qatar.

Malmö FF was interested in both Touma and Iztizaki but could sign any of them. The latest rumors are that MFF is interested in both Mikael Nilsson and Andreas Jacobsson from Southampton.

As i can understand, Malmö are satisfied with the squad they currently have and is prepering to sign players in to the summer, before the qualifier to CL starts.

The club says that players that are sign should be an instant boost and a player that can go direct into the starting eleven, no avrage players should be signed, in that case the youngsters should be used instead. We currently have some talanted youngsters, i would rate 18-year old attacking midfielder Sierra Leone player Samuel Barley and midfielder Joakim Nilsson as serious contendors for playtime this year. Joakim made his debut already in 2003 and would probably have played more last season if it wasnt for several injuries.

    Lindrup to AGF

The Danish Superliga club AGF Aarhus have signed a 2½-year contract with the 28-yo OB Odense midfielder, Thomas Lindrup. The former Brøndby left winger who is known for his excellent technique and brilliant crosses, deadly to any defence, was also wanted by Swedish Halmstads BK as the replacement for Sharbel Touma and he has just returned from a trial at Leeds United last week. The transfer figure has not been disclosed by either of the two club's.

    Alen Marcina to Herfølge

According to the Danish Superliga clubs Herfølges own official website, Herfølge have signed a ½-year contract with the 25-yo Canadian forward Alen Marcina, who has been at several European clubs the past few years, FC Schweinfurt 05 (Germany), IA Akranes (Iceland), PAOK Saloniki and FC Club Brügge ..

Hamburger SV talent on loan to AaB

The 19-yo forward, Besart Berisha, has moved to the Dainsh Superliga club AaB Aalborg on a 1-year loan deal from the German Bundesliga club Hamburger SV. The former Kosovo-Albanian has lived in Germay since he was 7-yo, but so far the German FA have failed to help him get a German citizenship so he can play for the German U19 NT...

Cameroun talent on loan to AGF

The 21-yo right back/midfielder, Patrice Kwedi (Dinamo Zagreb), has earned a ½-year loan deal with the Danish Superliga club AGF Aarhus. Kwedi has impressed while being on trials at AGF, Trelleborg, IFK Göteborg, Malmö FF and Landskrona BoIS, but in the end it was AGF getting his signature with the option to sign a permanent deal when his contract with Dinamo Zagreb expires at the end of this season...

AaB scandal ... Star striker Axed

The 28-yo former Fortuna Düsseldorf, FCK, Wimbledon and Norwich striker, David Nielsen was axed today by AaB, because he punched his team-mate, Allan Gaarde, in the face at training two days ago. This scandal is the latest step to a sad downfall for the former Danish U21 NT striker, who was embroiled in a gambling scandal along with AaB keeper Jimmy Nielsen in 2004. David's name was splashed across the front pages of Denmark's national newspapers after AaB admitted at a press conference that their star striker and long-serving goalkeeper had accumulated debts of DKK 1.6 million (€215,000) with a local betting shop.

The two players were betting on football doubles (predicting the full-time scores of two games), and the board of directors at Aalborg decided to name and shame the pair, as well as setting up counselling sessions on gambling problems. The club stressed that they had not done anything illegal but that counselling sessions would be provided to help identify any gambling addictions.

Jimmy Nielsen payed his debts straight away, while Davids level of credit with the Aalborg bookies was so big, that the shop was forced to close due to David not being able to pay his debts. David was later almost declared bankrupt and lost his house and his wife in the process... and now he has also lost his job at AaB, a sad ending to a sad story :(

According to AaB, they are now looking for a replacement and they also say that several top-flight clubs in Scandinavia has shown interest in signing David, who has scored 20 goals in 50 games for AaB...

    David Nielsen to FCM

It didnt take long for for the 28-yo AaB topscorer David Nielsen to find a new club. He has now signed a 3-year contract with FC Midtjylland

Two Brazilians on loan to AaB

The Danish Superliga club AaB did not feel they had time to find a more experienced striker to replace their former topscorer, David Nielsen, so instead they have signed a loan deal (until June 30 this year) with the two young Brazilian Clube Atlético Miniero forwards, 21-yo Marcelinho (Marcelo Oliveira da Silva) and 19-yo Rafael Lopes (Rafael Lopes de Oliveira).

    Thomas Røll return to Silkeborg

FCK and Silkeborg have agreed on a loan deal, with the 27-yo midfielder Thomas Røll Larsen (Den 8 caps, 1 goal) moving to Silkeborg for the rest of the season. The once highly rated midfielder has had trouble getting on the first team at FCK lately and wanted a move to his former club Silkeborg to get more 1st team games.

    Carsten Fredgaard to Randers

The 28-yo FCK left winger and former Sunderland, West Bromwich and Bolton player Carsten Fredgaard (Den 1 cap), no longer seem to be a part of the FCK first team and has therfore agreed on a loan deal with Randers until his contract with FCK expires at the end of this season.

    FCK sign Laudrup

FCK have signed a contract (until 2007) with the Danish U16 international, Mads Thunø Laudrup, who is the son of Michael Laudrup.

    "Ali Akida" to FCN

FC Nordsjælland have signed a contract for the rest of this season with the Kenya international (10 caps, 2 goals) Emmanuel Ake Richard Muttendango. Last season Muttendango was the cause of a scandal when a DNA-test revealed that the now former AB København player was not 21-yo but 23-yo, and he admitted that he traveled to Denmark in 2000 using a falsh passport and identity as Ali Akida. He then was suspended for 3 month and had to pay a €7,000 fine and later lost his job at AB when they were relegated from the Superliga.

    American to FCN

FC Nordsjælland have signed a contract for the rest of this season with the 20-yo American left back/midfielder Heath Pearce (University of Portland). According to Onside.dk Pearce has won around 40 youth caps for the USA...

    Manchester City player to Køge

The Køge manager and former Manchester City coach, Greg Rioch, has signed a contract with the 20-yo Manchester City midfielder, Jamie Tandy, for the rest of the season. Tandy was front page news in England last year when he was attacked by his team-mate Joey Barton with a lighted cigar at the club's Christmas party... Barton poked the cigar in the eye of Jamie Tandy after he was said to have provoked him by trying to set his shirt on fire... Køge are in 5th place in the Danish 1st division at the moment

    Mads Jørgensen return to Brøndby

Brondby have signed a 3½-year contract with the 26-yo former AGF midfielder Mads Jørgensen (Den, 1 cap). It has not been revealed how big a transfer fee Brøndby have to pay the Norwegian 1st division club Stabæk. But Jørgensen is happy to return to Brøndby where he has played 62 games and scored 19 goals...

    Ivory Coast international to FCN

The Danish Superliga club FC Nordsjælland have signed a loan deal for the rest of the season with the 24-yo left back, Mamadou Coulibaly, from the Belgium Jupiler League club SC Lokeren. Mamadou Coulibaly is in the Ivory Coast WCQ squad and according to Onside.dk he has so far won 32 caps for his country...

You can find an almost complete transferlist of the Tippeligaen here; http://www.skbrann.org/nyheter?nID=850 The only transfer that's currently missing as far as I can see is Ophaug's transfer to Odense Boldklub. Hope it helps you out. Feel free to ask any questions if you need to.
