------------------Given Zabaleta-Richards-Kompany-Garrido ---------De Jong---------Barry Petrov---------------------------Bellamy -----------Benjani---Tevez If SWP is good to go this is the probable line up: http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/football/premier-league/2009-2010/everton-manchester-city-283140.html
I'm using the fact that this game is televised at 12:30 on FSC with no conflicting NFL Playoff games to get several casual soccer fan friends of mine to watch the game. I expect entertainment - don't fail me LD. BTW - I like that Donovan vs. Garrido matchup.
De Jong's form has dipped a bit. Mancini has followed SAF's style and has started different players every game since he's been the boss. I posted this one earlier: ----------Bellamy------------------- ----------------Tevez-------------- -Robinho--------------------Petrov- ----------Vieira-------Barry--------- Garrido-Kompany-Richards-Zabaleta I agree Benjani may get the start. But there's a lot of press over here about City needing to gain ground in GD. I think they may try for it.
City's 2-1 win at Goodison Park last season was their first there since October 1992, a run of 10 matches. Sylvain Distin could be in line for a return to action against one of his former teams as he is nearing a full recovery from his hamstring problem. Manager David Moyes has confirmed Lucas Neill is available to play against City before his proposed move to Galatasaray. Victor Anichebe, Mikel Arteta, Tony Hibbert, Phil Jagielka, Jack Rodwell and Dan Gosling are all injured, while Ayegbeni Yakubu and Joseph Yobo are at the African Nations Cup. ..Head 2 Head 25-04-2009 Premier League Everton 1 - 2 Manchester City 13-12-2008 Premier League Manchester City 0 - 1 Everton 25-02-2008 Premier League Manchester City 0 - 2 Everton 12-01-2008 Premier League Everton 1 - 0 Manchester City 01-01-2007 Premier League Manchester City 2 - 1 Everton 30-09-2006 Premier League Everton 1 - 1 Manchester City 03-02-2006 Premier League Everton 1 - 0 Manchester City 01-10-2005 Premier League Manchester City 2 - 0 Everton 25-12-2004 Premier League Everton 2 - 1 Manchester City 10-09-2004 Premier League Manchester City 0 - 1 Everton
"If" LD starts, what is the over/under on what minute he gets subbed out in? 70? Hopefully he got some good training in since the Arsenal match and can put in the full 90 this time.
I would bet to see him play the full 90 as long as he isn't mentally rattled for some reason. Playing in the cold conditions last week surely accounted for a more difficult time playing the full 90. I think it is almost as hard to stay hydrated in that cold as it is the heat. Plus keeping warm during stoppage, half time, etc....cramping isn't unexpected. Cant wait to see him in a 'home' game...
Re: Landon &Timmy - Everton/Man Citeh 1/16/10 One word of advice: don't blink. Match preview & team news -- sportinglife.com
Re: Landon &Timmy - Everton/Man Citeh 1/16/10 I wouldn't be stunned to see him come off the bench. After all, the Ruskie that starts wide right is pretty good and I suspect that Moyes will use Donovan as a platoon player. Actually, I'd like to see him play in Osman's spot.
Re: Landon &Timmy - Everton/Man Citeh 1/16/10 Temperamentally Bellamy seems like a pain in the ass, but I've always admired his ferocity, which makes it seem like he's got half a step on everybody on the pitch even though physically that's probably not the case.
Re: Landon &Timmy - Everton/Man Citeh 1/16/10 It's going to be a very fast game, especially with the likes of Bellamy and Wright-Phillips doing their thing for Man City. But if Donovan gets the ball in his space, watch out.
Re: Landon &Timmy - Everton/Man Citeh 1/16/10 If you combine that with his temper, you end up with the suspicion that he snorts a few lines before each match
Re: Landon &Timmy - Everton/Man Citeh 1/16/10 I used to play soccer with a Welshman who was just like him. Nice guy off the pitch (which actually I'm not sure you can say about Bellamy) but snake mean and punishing speed on it. And this was just rec soccer.
Re: Landon &Timmy - Everton/Man Citeh 1/16/10 I think you could say Bellamy is a nice guy off the pitch http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/columnists/owen_slot/article6843814.ece
Re: Landon &Timmy - Everton/Man Citeh 1/16/10 Excellent for Bellamy. Interesting this had to be dragged out of him. Very hands on approach with his own $ and efforts.
when will we know if Donovan is starting? I am trying to decide whether to go to a bar to watch this one.
Donovan starts again. Everton: Howard, Neville, Heitinga, Distin, Baines, Donovan, Pienaar, Fellaini, Bilyaletdinov, Cahill, Saha Subs: Nash, Vaughan, Forshaw, Baxter, Mustafi, Coleman, Duffy http://www.evertonfc.com/news/archive/bily-and-distin-return.html
